Great Location

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Cons: The complementary breakfast left much to be desired.
I was staying here while doing extended training for work. The location is fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable. I was walking distance to so much, but just far enough away that I didn't feel trapped in the touristy or unsafe areas. The hotel staff was also friendly, competent, and helpful.

Great position, easy access to beach and LAX

Helpful staff. Rooms very pleasant modern design. Breakfast was included , continental, served on paper plates with plastic cutlery.....but not bad. Lift rather ancient and slow. rooms overlooking Washington rather noisy.

Quaint and simple..

Posted Jan 4, 2015
The lobby has no frills, just a desk. Staff was pleasant. Rooms were spacious with a 70's beach decor feel. Breakfast included was very basic-cold cereal and toast. Good location, two blocks to Venice beach surrounded by good local restaurants. Nice, but lacking any extra charm. The location is the sell.

Got a room on the ground floor, had to close curtains because people are sitting right outside in the courtyard. Feels like a tiny guest room in a rental apartment with no window. Unfortunately it was not inexpensive, otherwise I would not complain.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your candid feedback! I’m sorry to hear that you were not happy with the location of your room. Usually guests prefer the quietness of the courtyard over the rooms facing the boulevard, but I can understand how privacy was a concern for you. If you decide to stay with us again, just list the location preference on the booking and we will make sure that you get a much more private room. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Best Regards, Maggie Oliva General Manager

Very loud!!!

Posted Jan 3, 2015
Was hoping to have a relaxing and quiet stay. Unfortunately it was just not what I expected on arrival and at checkout. Room was not special and staff did not make the stay memorable in any way. Sleep was non existent as the walls were paper thin. I got to enjoy my neighbors conversation all night.

Super trendy, Not Too Pricey for LA!

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Very stylish, I definitely knew I was in Los Angeles.
Cons: Microwave! I had to eat cold pizza :(
Location: Venice Beach! The canals! Local eatery, like the fish taco place featured in the Paul Rudd/Jason Segel movie "I Love You Man." Fun area.
Neat place, all kinds of Venice Beach memorabilia in the room, very swanky retro styling. Neat open-air courtyard to sit in on the 2nd story with little outdoor tables, gas-lamp style street lights, mood lighting, etc. Very cozy. Helpful staff too. I wish they'd warned me about eh $14 parking fee, but oh well. Everything is pricey in Los Angeles, and for less than $200/night this place was really great! Two nice white bath robes were even included. Room had a mini-fridge and even a new Keurig coffee maker, but strangely lacked a microwave..? Still. Will stay there again if in LA.

Perfect hotel

Posted Dec 12, 2014
This hotel is perfect. The rooms are large, clean and the staff could not have been more helpful! It is conveniently located 3 minutes from Venice Beach, or 7 minutes to Santa Monica pier, and only 7 minutes from LAX. Next door is a fantastic Mexican restaurant that makes the best margaritas in LA.

Cute boutique hotel in a convenient location.

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Was very hesitant when picking a place to stay in Venice as I wasn't familiar with the area but knew there was a huge population of homeless in the area. I spent a lot of time looking and finally decided on this place. So glad I did!!! It was 2 short blocks from the beach but far enough away to be outside of the "sketchy" area at night. The room and the entire hotels decorations were very cute. The room was very clean and provided everything you would need including robes, bathroom soaps, cotton swabs, cotton balls, hair dryer, iron, safe, fridge and k cup maker. They provide parking on site for $14 per day. Even though check out was at noon they allowed me to keep the car there all day for no additional fee!! Front desk was very helpful and assisted us with printing boarding passes, getting discounted rental bikes next door and a map and info on what to see and eat in the area. There is a super cute courtyard in the center where there are tables set up for the continental breakfast they provide. Basic offerings like breads, muffins, bagels, cold cereal, toaster waffles, yogurt, granola, fruit, milks, juices and coffee. Overall a very great choice of place to stay. Would certainly recommend highly to anyone!

Great service at a nice small hotel

Posted Nov 25, 2014
We got just what we expected from this non-chain hotel. 5 minute walk to the Venice pier, with a few nice restaurants on the way. I forget the name of the one right on the beach with a balcony and live entertainment most nights. The front desk staff always went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. We felt safe at out location, but my feeling was that a few blocks to the north along the beach had more homeless/street people that I wouldn't want to come across at night. The room was cosy and always clean. The 70's brown and orange decor made us smile. The continental breakfast was good each morning. It included bagels, toast cereal, juices, coffee, hard-boiled eggs waffles... We didn't rent a car, but in especially this area there was only a few buses, and it was likely 20-30 minutes by bus to get to the L.A. Metro. We investigated taking transit to burbank. trip planner said it would take 2 hours on 3 different busses. We always take the hop on, hop off bus in major centres because it takes you to many of the places you want to go. There is about 5 routes that link together here, but they don't start operating until about 9am and end about 6, meaning that if you are a couple routes away from the hotel, you must start heading home by about 3, which makes a short day unless you are willing to pay a $40-50 cab fare home. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for an L.A beach holiday!
