Our L.A. Downtown Stary~
Posted Jan 14, 2013
Pros: Downtown location within a reasaonable distance to venues, attractions
Fairly close to some venues we visited. Food in the cafe was very good as was the lobby cafe. Our room was very clean and pleasant however, I'd like just once to be away from freeway noise at a hotel. We seem to continually get near streets instead of away from them. Why is that? The higher you pay for a room is it then that you get a quieter room? Not sure. Overall, the stay was pleasant~

Bad Customer Service
Posted Jan 11, 2013
Pros: The hotel was very clean and well kept.
Cons: Customer service and parking.
Location: Dodger stadium is 10 minutes away and pretty close to hollywood for the nightlife.
Upon check in, the front desk receptionist had a lot of attitude and not very helpful. The hotel itself was well kept and looked like it had been renovated recently. The room was very clean and was furnished well. The customer service was very bad. We waited 45 minutes for our car and when we returned there was no parking. We waited in the valet port for about 30 minutes until they turned us away and told us to park across the street. They still charged me for valet parking, even though I did not park overnight. The front desk receptionist said there was nothing he could do.

Very nice
Posted Jan 26, 2013
Pros: Very focally appealing.
Cons: The smell.
Location: Close enough to the Staples Center and LA Live.
Hotel was clean. Very nice remodel. Didn't care for the smell in the room, but once you were in it, you didn't smell it... think t was because of the renovation. Would be helpful if they put scented filters in the ventilation system to help. Is tricky to find.

We had a graduation at USC.
Posted Jan 24, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, bar, restaurant and parking were all a plus.
Cons: Elevator lights didn't work.
Location: We were close to USC, Dodger Stadium, Union Station and the famous Philip's.
The lobby is beautiful. The vallet, though a bit high is charged to the room. Staff was friendly. You can go and come as you like. Quick service. Very close to everything downtown. Our room on the 12th floor was amazing. We also had one on the 3rd floor for the rest of our party. Not quite as nice. Beds were perfect in both rooms. Sheets, pillows, mattresses very upgraded. 3rd turns into a one way running NORTH....only way to enter hotel.... We had a group of 6 and we ate and had drinks at the bar. The food was VERY GOOD. The servings were big. Enough to split. One pizza will feed 2-3 people. We over ordered. I wish I could have finished my steak and veggies. We weren't sure what to expect. Now we know for next time.

newly renovated, conveniently located
Posted Jan 19, 2013
Pros: newly renovated room
Cons: I had to pay for the internet which was slow; Due to a change in name (from Marriott to Hyatt), the signage outside was not clear and confusing.
Location: very convenient -- walking distance to Metro, Dash buses, major downtown attractions
my room was totally renovated and everything was very clean. They were still doing some construction in lower floors but I didn't hear any noise because they gave me a room at the top floor. The location was just perfect for business travelers -- right in downtown and convenient to get around. I was able to get a great discount. They let me check-in early without any charge.

They are renovating the whole hotel. The new rooms are beautiful . The service was very good. The only drawback was the dinner restaurant was still closed .
