“Nice location, hip restaurant”
We have stayed at The Orlando several times, but this was are best time yet. The rooms and bathrooms were updated. There is a new restaurant, The Churchill, which was very fun. It was trendy, loud, crowded and the food was good too! There are several restaurants within walking distance.
“Perfect Location”
Trendy area, lots of restaurants and shopping nearby, fantastic staff!
“nice modern boutique hotel”
well appointed rooms, newly remodeled bathroom. nice boutique hotel.
“Disappointed this time”
We have stayed there before and found the reno to be less convenient than the old rooms. The room is bigger but the bathroom is smaller. Construction all around which we did not know about. Strange noises upstairs in the middle of the night. Too bad because we like the location - convenient to our kid's house.
“Comfortable but cool”
The Orlando's location is ideal: within walking distance of a number of fine restaurants and a great mall. The amenities are very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was under construction during the time we stayed, so the ambiance wasn't perfect, but we weren't inconvenienced by it. Two small complaints: we felt the king-sized bed was too soft and a bit swaybacked, and the wifi was unreliable. Overall, though, we would definitely recommend the hotel to others.
“"Convenient location...great shopping...3rd St. is a find!"”
The Orlando or as I call it " The Tony Orlando and Dawn" was a great place to stay. I'm not a tourist when I'm down in LA so my perceptions might be different. The location on 3rd is neighborhoody and fun! Shopping is a must and The Beverly Center is up the block. Terrific places to eat...it's a walking treasure. The hotel staff are professional and very helpful. I will definitely stay there again.
“Recommend and will stay there again”
Located close to Beverly Center. Clean rooms. Super friendly staff.
“Absolute jewel of a hotel!”
What a tremendously pleasant surprise! This was the first time I opted for the blind hotel selection (ie: Expedia gives you the star rating of the property, as well as general information with the exception of the hotel's name). We couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Even with renovations currently underway, we were never inconveniced or disturbed by noises, etc. Chic boutique property with exceptional customer care from arrival to departure, and every moment in between! Thank you, Curtis and Bob...you made our stay beyond fabulous! Phenominal location a safe, trendy area with great shopping and dining - - important when my daughter and I travel together. The Orlando is convenient to everything, including an easy 10-15 minute drive to Santa Monica! So thrilled we found The Orlando, and we will certainly be returning for many visits to come. We cannot recommend The Orlando enough!
“The worst smell in socal, currently being refurbished!”
We used the "secret" hotel deal on expedia where you dont know the name until you book and pay, let me tell you it will be the last time i ever book a hotel without knowing what it is. The Orlando is a dirty little side street hotel that looked to be once a holiday inn or something along those lines...i would have been happy if it were a holiday inn as i believe they clean the rooms properly. The lifts and floors smell like strong sulfar...yes rotten egg gas.....thats the cloest i can come to explaining the horrible smell without having to think about it again and gag from the memory, literally when i stepped onto my floor i almost threw up. The room itself was also dirty, the only clean thing was the sheets....i hope, the walls and ceiling had mold and other "dirt" and basically i didnt take off my socks the entire trip as i didnt want to walk touching the floors with my bare skin....now you might think this guy is just a complainer but i can say this is only about my second review ever....im an expedia Elite VIP(whatever that means)and i had to write this review in hope someone else wont waste there money although being a "secret" hotel pick i suppose no one will know until its too late. The hotel was also being refurbished while we were there, even the room next to ours was being knocked out so therefore we heard the lovely sound of hammers and other loud noises all day, thats prob a good thing ,as i cant think of anything else that will fix the poor state of this hotel
“Don't go there”
It's terrible, I'll never use again!!!
