Pros: Well positioned, close to other attractions, bathroom and room area very spacious.
Cons: Room smelled as damp-old, so was the lobby and general areas...a bit like "old buildings"
Location: Excellent location, close to many night and day attractions, restaurants, beaches, etc.
Expected a higher end facilities, and services, for rates paid.

The experience started the moment I got out of my friend's car. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is good for guests who don't drive. You can find bus stops and metro stations. It's a little far if you are going to Hollywood. The hotel is perfect for business travel and leisure travel that doesn't include tight schedules for tourist attractions.

Brilliant hotel, great location, facilities good

Pros: Good big rooms and lobby, pool welcome. Clean and modern. Rooms comfortable enough to spend time chilling in.
Cons: We liked it the way we found it.
Location: Pier, aquarium and Queen Mary ocean liner all within walking distance. Other buildings on Ocean Boulevard fascinating architecture.
The view from the bedroom window over to the convention centre was stunning, both in the day and at night. Size of room was ideal, plenty of space to sit, watch TV, and with comfortable beds. The lobby had quiet places to sit at night and use the wifi. Pool facilities were welcome. Ideal location for trips out in the day to busy LA and back to the hotel for tranquillity in the evening. Would recommend it and would go again. We stayed three nights and loved it.

Room is big, staff decent. The late night women who works the front desk could stop smoking and be more accommodating and friendlier. Clean pool area with great views. Definitely convenient to eating and things to do like whale watching. We Will try out westin cosa Mesa before returning here.

Awesome hotel

I had a wonderful stay at the Westin. The room was great, had a nice fresh sent (not the typical hotel smell) the room was a gracious size and it was very clean. The only negative thing I experienced was at checkin. I arrived around 2 pm and at checkin I was told I could not check in until 3:30. After about 30 minutes of waiting in the lobby I went to speak with another representative. After telling her how long I had waited, she immediately checked me in and apologized that I was given that information. Other than that my stay was great! I will definitely stay here again

Close to many restaurants, performing arts center

The grill was good, however they needed some help with a big conference. They lost a lot of customers because they were short staffed during a lunch break.
