It is a motel, but very clean and functional

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: Comfortable bed, and the fact that everything was functional. Many times, even at high-end hotels, something is out of order (light fixture etc.)
Cons: Plumbming noise.
It is a motel and the room was small but they maintain this property very well. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. A fridge and a microwave were in the room. The shower got hot fast and the water pressure was good. The towel was nice and soft. WiFi connection was solid. The only bad was the noise. You could hear next door's toilet flushing, and the traffic noise. If you're a light sleeper you might want a pair of ear plugs or a white noise maker. They provid free breakfast as well. There were cerial, milk, donuts, bagles and cream cheese, bananas, apples, Juices, tea and coffee. The coffee was really good. Walking distance to USC, CVS and various fast food joints.

Cheap & Clean

Posted Nov 4, 2014
I need a hotel for the night while I was in town to see a show at the Nokia Theatre. It worked out fine. It was clean & cheap and close to the theatre. Not the kind of hotel I'd want to spend all day in, but good for a clean place to crash.

40% of the cost of conference hotels

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Location.
Location: USC, Nokia Theater, La Live, and the convention center all within ten minutes.
This is just your typical highway hotel except for the fact that it is right next to USC and buses run every ten minutes to take you to the convention center and the Nokia theater. The bus stops in front of the hotel and in front of the convention center ten minutes away. The hotel is safe because USC has *ambassadors* patrolling the area 24/7. The conference hotel was $245 a night, the Vagabond was $109, a real life saver. Breakfast was pitiful but so what? The rooms were clean, safe and quiet. The parking was free.

OK!

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Location: I was visiting USC, and the hotel is less than 10 minutes away, walking.
This was a relatively clean hotel. It is conveniently located to USC, few blocks away. I believe it worth the price, especially for an overnight stay.

The best thing about this hotel is the location...

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Location, location!!!!
Cons: Everything!!! IT is an outdated hotel....
Location: That is the best part of it.....so close to restaurants and important centers such a LA Convention Center.
Well, I would not stay in this hotel again. When we stay it was a really hot day...it would've been nice to cool the room for us, because when we arrived, it was HOT!!!!!!! The tub was not clean...when shower a had to put a towel to stand on. It is not updated, did not feel good or comfortable.

Way over priced and they should remove the "USC" from their title. I would never stay at this dump again

Great value near USC

Posted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed at the Vagabond for USC move-in. I felt safe, and the hotel staff was very nice. They let me ship some items to the hotel, and held them for me for a day or 2 until we arrived. Since my son and I were coming from the other side of the country, we really appreciated this service. I thought the hotel was cleaner than the more expensive establishment down the street. The free parking and coffee were great, too. I would stay at the Vagabond again.
