Very easy check-in and check-out with friendly and helpful staff from the doorman and valet drivers through to the housekeepers. Very nice and comfortable rooms and bathroom. Room preference requests granted without any issues.

Great Stay, location, and cool vibe to the hotel.

Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: centrally located, very cool vibe, clean, and staff was nice.
Cons: offer self parking if not wanting to valet.
Location: TMZ tour, wax museum, Fonda Theatre to see "30 Seconds to Mars" concert.
Went to stay on October 30th, for the 30 Seconds to Mars concert just down a block at the Fonda Theatre. We drove all the way up from San Diego, a long drive as there was an accident so the normal 2hr drive took 4hrs. well worth the wait to see the band and also stay at the W in Hollywood. A very cool hotel vibe and centrally located to all Hollywood has to offer. We were looking to do the TMZ tour the next day but had to get back to SD for my Fiancee's kids Halloween evening. Also, the staff was very nice. When we got to our room, (our room keys in the elevator weren't working and another guest swiped his key to let us off at our floor) when we said out loud,, "oh no, our keys aren't working" a staff member taking dinner to another room, stopped and said that he would help us. He called to the front desk to verify that we were staying in that room (for security reason) let us in, then said that he would get us working keys. returned, I thanked him, and tipped him. Great experience and we want to come stay again soon. Regards, VJ

Awesome design, lackluster maintenance.

Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Design, location somewhat.
Cons: Upkeep and maintenance. Service to show the W experience. Pricing on parking is absurd.
Location: Chinese theater, Pantages, Dolby Theater.
I stayed here for a night. I have stayed in W Hotels for over 10 years and I enjoy their design and creative ideas on a stay. I do think they are a form of higher end hotels and I agree to some extent to their difference in prices. Now, as to the stay in this specific hotel, I have to say that the upkeep is not up to the normal standards. I believe a reason is the location and the fact that its used more like a party venue rather than a hotel. The mattress was overused and soft. Awful to sleep on. Though modern and nice looking, furnishings were damaged due to rough use. There were insects in the room, flies and moths, TV could be newer. Rooms are noisy, I could hear the neighboring room's conference call at 6:AM. Noises and conversations in the hall while the door fully closed, came in very strong. I think the people attending the reception were just passing the Starwood standards, but not overly happy to have you as a guest. Honestly I don't think I'll come back to the W Hollywood. If I were you I'd look at other options for a $100 less and you'll find something a bit more comfortable.

Old Hotel, old bathroom

Posted Oct 26, 2014
The bathroom plumbing fixtures are scratchy and old, showroom tiles need to be replaced. Overall i think the hotel condition is old.

Fancy Hollywood hotel in the heart of LA.

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Exactly what you think of when you think of LA and Hollywood.
Cons: Coffee maker in the room would be nice, but they have everything else.
Location: Hollywood!
Stayed here to go to a concert at the graveyard nearby in Hollywood Forever. Great stay and location.

Nice, close to AMDA where I needed to be

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Very clean and bright.
Cons: Room was smaller than I thought it should be - would have been nice to have sitting chairs none available. Needs more light. Lighting was poor.
Location: 24Kitchen Waffle Restaurant. Griffith Park
Thurs/Fri/Sat - very nice staff. Very helpful in offering information and directions. Would definitely stay again.
