Pros: The area
This is the second hotel we have book with Expedia in very nice hotels but they don't tell you they are remodeling and and the only thing that is OK is the room. The water gets turned off TV doesn't work but you still pay the same price.

Pros: it was average with an over-average price
Cons: room discounts to make up for the lack of amenities
Location: the attraction is the pier and nearby Venice, the hotel was not
For the price with tax totaling over $300, I was severely disappointed. They were renovating so no pool or jaccuzzi, no lobby or restaurant, the continental breakfast was the barest minimum….there should have been a discount. I am not going to any Wyndham hotels again….even the parking fee was abhorrent.

Rude Reception

Pros: Location
Cons: Reception staff. Allowing me to stay there for the duration of my reservation.
Upon arrival told that we would be sent to another hotel. After arguing for a few minutes, a room was "suddenly" available, however only for one night (of a 3 night reservation). The next day we were sent out by check out time, not even allowed a late check out and had to switch hotels. The reception counter attendant was poorly trained to handle the situation and was condescending.

Pros: Professional staff, clean room, great location, close to the beach, Santa Monica piers, mall and Promenade 3rd street.
Nice experience, clean room, professional staff. Per request we were provided room with sofabed for 3rd person for the same rate. Reasonable rate for great location.

Lobby remodeling and no room service.

When we did our reservation there was no information about the remodeling of all public areas. Essentially there is little more than a hallway to the elevators. We wanted to host other family and guest at the hotel but could not. There is no room service in the morning and at other times outside lunch and dinner. I wished we would had been informed.

Pros: it's clean..beds are comfy
Cons: charge lesser parking, needs better lobby
Location: close to the shops, restaurants and the pier
parking is like highway robbery, it's $36/night plus tax..so close to $40, just for the parking...no lobby...rooms are ok..

Nice hotel

Location: Located right across from the Santa Monica Pier.
Would have rated excellent on all levels except they are doing some renovations which we weren't told about. No restaurant, no breakfast (sweet rolls in make shift lobby). On all other levels it was an excellent experience.

Hotel Under Major Renovations!

Pros: Location was convenient
Cons: Concierge service: need knowledgeable staff. Hotel needs to advertize self as 'under renovation'
Location: Touristy area. 2 short blocks from promenade and 1 blocks from Santa Monica pier.
I was unaware the hotel was undergoing renovations; limited facilities and resources. My intention was to inspect meeting facilities and use property for several meetings in the upcoming year. I wish Expedia and the hotel had advertized that space was unavailable during this time. No restaurant in-house; no lobby. Room was clean; outdated amenities (old, dirty coffee maker), if any at all (i.e., no slippers). Staff informed me they were limiting amenities and not ordering new supplies until after renovation complete. No concierge service: Staff were wonderful and did the best they could, having to clearly take on the role of several tasks/positions (i.e. Valet attendant was also the bellhop, as well as guest services - brought water bottles to my room in the evening.) They were not knowledgeable of guest service-type questions, such as where to go for dinner. Altogether, decent experience. I now understand the reason for room rates being so reasonably priced.
