Nice Close to the Freeway and Questionable area

Pros: The closeness to the freeway, I love being put to sleep by the sound of a cement river. I really liked that Expedia gave me the cheapest room.
Cons: Book through the Hotel directly. Clarify beds per room when booking.
Location: Near the Freeway, Near 2 gas stations and McDonalds and Starbucks. 1.5 hours away from Yosemite
Too much to say. The hotel was overbooked, the rooms were not what we requested from Expedia as far as people count. We booked 6 rooms and they all were King Size beds, we had 4 people in 4 of the rooms which we told Expedia about when making the reservation. The 1st floor smelled of Urine. The Hotel have booked rooms to construction workers who left for work at 4:00am...Loudly. The pool is 18' x 25' and did not feel heated. The hotel was next to an vacated bowling alley. Tagged. Breakfast was adequate, make you own pancakes. No Bacon, American Cheese Omelets, cereals, hot coffee, biscuits. The front desk was helpful as they could be. They assisted with 3 roll away beds to make up for the shortcomings of the room space.

Roadtrip

Pros: Very nice, clean...big rooms.
Cons: Breakfast was just OK....
We needed to stay overnight in Merced to visit a friend and chose Holiday Inn. It was very clean, the staff at the front desk were polite and very helpful. The only thing that kept this from a 5/5 was the overnight train noise and the breakfast. Merced is evidently a main rail line and we heard train whistles all night long. Not too bad but noticeable. The free buffet breakfast was fine for free, but if you are really hungry, offsite would be a better bet. We'll use this Holiday Inn on return visits for sure.

Zimmer ist sauber! Aufzüge sind katastrophal laut, genau wie Kühlschrank und Icemaker! Frühstück mangelhaft!

Nice hotel close to UC Merced

Pros: Hotel was seven minutes away from UC Merced. It had a good breakfast selection and the pool was heated all day. My two small kids enjoyed the pool.
Location: There is an abandoned bowling alley a few feet away from the front entrance of the hotel and I wouldn't recommend walking to any of the nearby places.
My family and I stayed at the hotel while we visited UC Merced and Yosemite for the weekend. It was very convenient to stay here and it offered all the ammenities my family needed. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable.

Pros: Everything is what you would expect from this Hotel brand.
Cons: Managements approach to customer service.
Location: Hotel is not really near anything. Good if you want a quiet rest at night. Not good if you don't have a vehicle to move around town in.
The hotel, the amenities, and the staff were all beyond satisfactory. My only issue was with the person that checked me in. I reserved 6 rooms (2 1-bed king suites & 4 2-bed queens) thru expedia. However when I was checked in I was given only 1 bed king suites for all rooms. The person that checked me in was dismissive and non-apologetic when I explained my reservation. It was only afterwards that another employee explained that the hotel considers their 1 bed king suites a substitute for when they are out of the 2-queen rooms. That employee was helpful, friendly, and apologized for the confusion. When I inquired who helped me the first time, it turned out it was the manager.

extremely unsatisfied customer

Found food in room - not comfortable about not knowing if the room was actually clean. Requested an early wake up call and never received it and ruined my whole weekend. Requested to speak to supervisor but wasn't in office but left my name and number but never received a call - I requested a refund and still waiting for a reply.
