awful travel experience

Posted May 18, 2015
It's a hotel with much potential but ruined by horrendous customer service, major ongoing construction, poor atmosphere and uninspired food. Half of the pools were closed. Outdoor massages were disturbed by passing tractors and drilling. Our holiday was salvaged only by spending the last two days at another hotel. Truly a disappointment.

Wonderful Hotel

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: location, The restaurant LaRoca was excellent, great views of the pacific.
Cons: Bring back the beach, waiting for nature may take a very long time. The food at restaurant Don Luis was mediocre at best and should be improved.
Location: You can walk to Lover's Beach and the Arch. Town was a ten minute walk.
Wonderful Hotel. Beautiful location, easy walk to town. Rooms were superb. Staff were very nice and always helpful. Lot of construction going on, distracts from the charm. Noise was never a problem. I found the prices at the restaurants and convenience store more than fair. I was expecting to be gouged and was very pleased not to be. We will be returning.

Amazing Resort

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: The rooms and the pool side service was great!!
Cons: Better selection for dining. Food was good, but not much variety, especially if you're looking for local flavor.
Location: Everything is with in a $10.00 cab ride, free shuttle or a good walk.
Even with the construction finishing up, this place was amazing. The room was beyond our expectations. The resort is far enough from town to have a secluded, relaxing get away, and close enough to town to walk to all the shopping and parties. Laying around the pool with drinks and food is a good call at this resort. The message at the spa was top shelf, except for the occasional tractor driving by, but hardly noticed. The ONLY recommendation I would make would be to have Mexican food at you Mexican resort. The food we had was a little pricey, but excellent. Drinks were priced fair and were not watered down. Shared transportation was not the way to go. I would call the resort to set that up through them, or set up your own private transfers from the air port. Cab to the resort is about $90.00 each way.

Fantastic!

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Location: ATVing, horse back riding, swim with dolphins, spa treatments
The Resort was under construction during our stay which is why I gave a 4 instead of a 5 for hotel facilities. Even with the construction the resort is fantastic! The rooms are beautiful with breath taking views, food was great, gym is amazing, staff is top notch.

Great Hotel Rooms, Fabulous dining experience.

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Beautiful location. Clean and beautiful facility.
Cons: Nothing once the new construction is complete!
Location: Great walk to the marina. Lots of restaurants, shops, boat activities, etc.
Our experience was excellent. Beautiful location, friendly staff, great facilities. The only disadvantage is that there was quite a bit of construction going on as they were building a new Front Desk Lobby and rebuilding their infinity pool area because of the damage that occurred during the last hurricane. Unfortunately with any new construction, it detracts from the completed beauty.

very nice now, will be incredible

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: The location and quality of the completed facilities are unsurpassed. All the rooms have ocean views and the landscaping is impeccable.
Cons: When the construction is completed will be as close to perfect as possible
Location: Went mountain biking one day and another took a water taxi to Lands End. Easy walking access to town and went in for many of the meals.
We stayed here for 2 nights prior and 3 nights after a dive trip. This is a high end facility and had a great time despite all the new construction and hurricane repair still going on. Unfortunately had to listen to the construction noise and had obstructed views from 2 out of 3 open pools. The beach access was very difficult and had to cross through blocked off areas or walk/take shuttle to the neighboring property. Otherwise would be 5 star in all categories. We were still very satisfied with our stay and this facility will be outstanding when completed. The views from the rooms were awe inspiring and we were able to see lots of whales from our balcony. The hotel staff couldn't be improved on and went out of their way to optimize your experience. Overall highly recommend this property.

Nice hotel, but......

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: The facility was very nice.
Cons: No constant up-selling and ridiculous time-share sales ploys. Privacy around spa with an actual changing rooms.
Location: Enjoyed eating out at Loreczzio's.
Looked forward to a getaway with just my husband. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very nice. Wasn't prepared for constant sales pitches from the moment we landed at the airport until the moment we left. Upon check in, we thought we were meeting with the concierge (house hostess) but found ourselves in a absolutely ridiculous time share ploy. Who actually pays for that - I'm not sure. Lots of construction going on from sunrise to sunset. Halfway through my massage a concrete truck started pumping fumes into my beachside spa hut. No real easy access to the beach to take a walk and the under tow is so fierce that they don't want you on the beach anyways. Tons of alcohol all day - families be aware.

Nice hotel with challenges

Posted Jan 24, 2015
Would have rated it a 4.5 if it weren't for the construction and last day experience with management. Beach access was closed. Staff were amazing with the exception of the manager who needs some customer service training. I requested a late check out (which I was willing to pay for) and spoke to 3 different staff about it. Staff were careful to confirm there would be a charge which I agreed to. Despite that the manager came to my door after normal check out time insisting that none of his staff recall talking to me (probably for fear of their job). He kept insisting that I name the staff (my mistake not to have gotten names). To me this is a basic customer service issue. All he had to do was say there must have been some misunderstanding and could I please checkout as soon as possible. Instead he continued to argue with me about whether I had spoken to anyone. Will go somewhere else next time.

Dear Guest We would like to thank you for your recent stay at the resort and at the same time, apologies for the last day experience at check out time. You can make sure that we already talk with the staff involve on this situation and they perfectly understand the importance of how to attend every guest needs and to resolve matter in favor of our guest. I personally apologies for this as it was never my staff intention to make you feel bad about something that happen while staying with us. We know that you will be having a great time on your next visit as we are going to finish the construction around july. Still we are welcomeing guest to enjoy our resort. Today it was amazing how many whales were and how all our guest witness this at our pools and restaurants. Thank you again for your recent visit. Sincerely,
