Pros: Food was great
New building much nicer, but they do not have any family suites in renovated section. People reserve beach chairs which we found to be ridiculous; this should not be allowed. Some people would not claim their chair until after lunch!!

Great Stay

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Room, Pools, Drinks, Food, Beach etc.
Location: Location is great! The Mega, Starbucks, swim with the dolphins, a bit of everything. Cabo is a bit of a drive but cheap shared shuttle from hotel.
My wife and I stayed at Ziva in early July and Wow! Staff was welcoming, a little moody at the front desk but very accommodating. Our first room had a few issues that I was not willing to just deal with so I requested a room change and the staff gave me a few options, all of which i was able to look at prior to deciding. Strongly recommend building 3, it had the Hyatt touches that you'd hope for. Breakfast was amazing, the buffet was huge with limitless options. Tacos for lunch by the pool and so many great restaurants to choose from for dinner. Pools and grounds were immaculate. No I don't work for the hotel, I just love when expectations for a trip are met and exceeded! I could go on but there were too many positives to go over here... I loved it and will be back!

Staff was great and facility was well kept. There was a pop-up storm and the staff was super prepared and in recovery mode immediately. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Food was good. Outside buffets nothing special but nice view of he ocean and you're on the beach.

Luxury hotel

Posted Jul 26, 2014
We had a great time. The food was good and the service excellent. The chefs at the buffet were willing to make specials meals for you!! Servers at the pools worked better and faster if you tip them good. My only complain was that water in pools was too warm. And the water in kids pool was almost as hot as in a jacuzzi. Excellent location

Great hotel.

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Food, Pool, Staff.
Cons: More things to do at night.
Location: Locations is good, but you cannot swim on the beach. There are plenty of things to do: boat tours, seeing the arch, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc.
This was our first time in Los Cabos, Mexico. It was a great trip. We really enjoy our stay there. The hotel staff was very friendly and committed. Great food and restaurants, very entertaining night shows. Overall, it was a excellent experience.

Great hotel, just needs a few tweaks

Posted Jul 20, 2014
We had a fabulous time at this lovely resort, which I would definitely recommend to anyone. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the service and on-site restaurants are outstanding. And though the buffets are not culinary standouts, they offer a wide variety of foods and are wonderfully convenient and quick for breakfast and lunch. But in case Hyatt Ziva is listening, there are a few tweaks needed, at least in the heat of summer: 1) make much more shade available poolside; 2) find a way to cool the pools during the hot weather (pools like a warm bath are NOT refreshing, which is why it is largely kids rather than adults in the pools); 3) do not allow guests to save chairs when they are not in the pool area (this would help with the shade problem); 4) vastly improve Internet service. Although wireless is available, we were often kicked off the network multiple times a day, and even when connected, sites often just failed to load. But these were the only opportunities to improve on an overall excellent experience, so potential guests should in no way be dissuaded. We would go back in a heartbeat. Loved it!

Nice resort but small

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Awesome view of the sea of Cortex, great weight room, and excellent pools.
Cons: Cleaning staff needs to improve there restocking procedures.
Location: Lover's beach was by FAR the best spot. Hop in a cab, hit the marina and pay the $11US to go hang out there for a few hours.
Good food, staff was polite but slow, and the cleaning staff could use some improvement in properly restocking coffee. Also, on our last night the hotel staff pulled out the hide-a-bed and preparedot for some unknown reason. Don't really know what that was about...

Awesome

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The nightly shows were awesome. Entertainment staff were just great. Plenty of activities at the hotel.
Cons: Italian Restaurant was the most disappointing.
Location: 1 block to the Mega-mart, Tap house (micro-brews) with a rock and roll theme a couple blocks away. Surfing about 2 to 3 miles away.
Tons of great food, drink and entertainment. Stayed there 7 nights, went out for dinner just one night. Japanese Restaurant was great. Also really liked the steak house. Breakfast buffet every morning with almost every choice of food you can think of including cooked to order eggs and omelettes. Top shelf liquor and good beer at just about every bar, I think there were 8 bars total plus liquor available in every restaurant... Organized beach volleyball and water sports everyday. Really had a good time.
