Gorgeous condoPosted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Beautiful condo, friendly staff, within walking distance to the downtown area.
Cons: The pool should be heated.
Location: Within walking distance to everything.
The condo was very spacious. Right in the middle of the downtown area, within walking distance to everything. The only complaint I have is that the pool was not heated as stated in the description. The food at the restaurant was good but a little pricy. The vendors at the beaches are non-stop trying to get you to buy things. Beware of scam artists when using your credit cards - we had an incident where we were told our credit card was declined so we had to pay in cash at a different exchange rate than the official one. When I checked my acct. statement I noticed they had also charged us for the same thing. Also, if you try to pay in USD (most places accept USD)they will try to give you a different exchange rate. You also need to bargain on almost everything.

Good to Very Good Accommodations; clean, quiet,Posted Jan 18, 2015
Good to Very Good Accommodations; clean, quiet, spacious interior condo, full kitchen, large sunny south facing balcony (C303 condo). Cons: walking up three flights of stairs with no elevator and fifty pound suitcases is not good. Condo had dated old sofa and furniture. I had to put a clean sheet on the sofa to feel clean to sit on it. We reserved a one bedroom condo and got a two bedroom condo without asking for it at no extra charge. Beach is a one block walk with a steep hill. A rental car does help for going to Walmart for groceries but is not absolutely necessary since there are restaurants and convenience stores within one to two blocks walking distance. + Free on site parking. + Good spacious pool sitting area. + Restaurant on site had a pretty good variety on the menu including Mexican. One week was enough in Cabo, and would stay at this condo again.

Close to everything!Posted Mar 31, 2014
Great place to stay if you don't like the hotel experience. The place was very clean and bug free (BIG Plus). The rooms were large they could have accommodated 3 couples comfortably and the A/C worked well. The kitchen had everything you'll need. You can take a bucket of beer to the pool and no one cares but you can still order from the pool bar if you like that. We went during Spring Break but didn't have any trouble with crazy party types. This place is so close to town and the beach that you don't need a car but if you like having one there is ample safe parking. They do not have daily maid service and I loved that...no one knocking on your door while you are trying to nap on vacation (2nd BIG Plus). Helpful staff, nice grounds, nice pool and location, location, location (3rd)!

Marina Sol is all about locationPosted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Staff First, Then the other people staying, living there.
Nora and I are in our fifties although we are active we prefer a quieter, more family friendly environment. Marina Sol is close to the beach the Mall & Downtown.

Good learning experiencePosted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: It was centrally located and Francisco the bar tender was pretty awesome.
Cons: They need to update the place, you can tell it is a pretty old building and old amenities, also the staff could be a bit more friendly.
Location: It is a block from the beach, and a block from downtown which is awesome.
The pictures of the hotel made it seem better than it was once we arrived. We were a little disappointed by some of the staff that would pretend not to know what I was saying, but my girlfriend would talk to them and they would hold a conversation. The store that is onsite is well... Just goto WalMart and get your stuff as they lack a lot of items and also seem to have quite a language barrier.

Close to town Condo units.Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: The price, close to town, pool area was quite nice and the Oasis Bar & Grill had good food and reasonable prices.
Cons: The buildings is old, there could be improvements but the condo units are owned by individuals who are responsible for the decorations.
Location: The marina, and town are in walking distance for almost anyone.
We enjoyed our stay at the Marina Sol. I'll start by saying this isn't a place for everyone, it's old, one of the first in Cabo San Lucas. The units are all owned by people so it's not a "Hotel" or "Resort"; you take care of yourself. If you stay ask for a pool view room which are quieter. The "Oasis Bar & Grill" has good prices and food, and the staff are attentive. You pay as you go, with cash or credit card not charging to the room. (which we prefer) The Marina Sol caters to an older crowd as far as we could tell. The only issue at check-in was we got a street view room to start, but this was taken care of when I showed them the email confirming a Pool/Patio view room. If you don't want to pay a large price, want to be close to town, and don't mind an older building then give it a try! If you need an elevator ask for the TOWER building.

Nice condo close to beach and marinaPosted Jan 14, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Better unit indication by Expedia
Location: Swimming, shopping and interesting eats
We just returned from a 2 –week stay at Marina Sol over the New Year. Overall, a wonderful vacation with gorgeous weather and views. We chose this location for its value, central location, and non all-inclusive feature. It is not your typical resort hotel but rather 5 blocks of privately-owned condominiums ringed around a large, swimming pool. We booked through Expedia and was given a unit in Block A ( which had an elevator ). Truthfully, our first unit was not the newest or fanciest and was musky and very dated. We had a very small television, a small hair-dryer, noisy taps and near non-existent WIFI ( which negatively affected my kids ). On the other hand, for me, the staff is so warm and unassuming. Yolanda and Tony ( my new friends ) helped us move to another unit after 10 days when the guests left – just to accommodate my kids’ need for all things “tech”. Then, there is Raul, the concierge, such a helpful and wonderful guy ( I call him “Zorro” for his dashing personality ). We even made friends and ate at the premises' palapa, Oasis Bar & Grill. Hola to Berenice, Pamela, Sophia, Bartolo and Pancho. Yes, for the friends and good memories made, I would stay at the Marina Sol again. Till we meet again… Take care and Thanks.

Good and also DissapointingPosted Apr 16, 2013
Pros: The staff, pool area and location
Cons: The noise of traffic and inconsiderate people early in the morning
Location: Good location close to beach, shopping and marina areas
The hotel location was very good and the pool area and Oasis bar and grill were also very good. We upgraded our room at time of booking and upon arrival were disapointed with state of the rooms cleanlyness. We don't expect everything to be new but an upgrade to kitchen and furniture wouldn't hurt. Chipped glasses and a coffee maker falling apart don't cut it. We had room A211 and paid 1,500 for 10 days, It was a very noisy location starting at 6 am which is fine if you don't want to sleep in on your holidays. ..We had agreat time with our other family members, but felt that we paid tooo much, especially for an upgraded room.
