Awesome Vacation!!!Posted Mar 9, 2014
Our vacation to Cabo San Lucas was awesome! The Playa Grande was perfect. Great location! Close to everything. We walked everywhere. Our room (a studio) was perfect for my husband and I. We were in building L, (the farthest from the beach), however, we were on the 6th floor and had the best view of everything! Our view from our balcony was beautiful overlooking the ocean/property, to the view of the marina at our front door. We enjoyed and highly recommend the whale watching tour on Cabo Adventures (8am excursion, lots of action) and the sunset cruise on Cabo Escape! For places to eat in the Marina area: the Tiki Bar (fish and chips are excellent), Baja Cantina (we had breakfast there every morning....never disappointed). Romeo & Juliet (Italian) and Mariscos Mazatlan (Seafood) Restaurants were fantastic. We also recommend the Mexican Night at Playa Grande. Very entertaining. We have never been to Cabo and already know we will be returning next year.

Almost perfect resortPosted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: The hotel is in a convenient location, beautiful views of the beach and harbor. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The accommodations are spacious.
Cons: Guests should not be charged for wifi, nor should they be stopped to participate in promotions for time sharing.
Location: The marina and town are a short walk away. Whale watching and other boat activities are nearby, as well as a myriad of restaurants, shops and the mal
Everything you need for a perfect vacation is here at Playa Grande. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool area is delightful with activities going on during the day should you feel like participating ( water aerobics for example). While this is not a swimming beach, the walk to the marina and the public beach was not bad and definitely worth seeing. Housekeeping is splendid - nice little touches in the room similar to a cruise ship. We had a little plumbing problem and a maintenance person arrived literally minutes after our phone call. The staff is pleasant, polite and friendly; service in all areas is terrific. It seemed unfortunate that $13.00 a day was charged for Internet service. We discovered that any restaurant or other facility in town would let you have their password for wifi and it was really all we needed. I highly recommend this facility, it is first class!

Big, comfortable rooms, great pools.Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: The pools and poolside service, the kitchenette.
Cons: I am not a fan of the time share sales "breakfast invitation" we received before we could even get out exhausted children to our room.
Location: We went para sailing and went to the Dolphin Discovery in San Jose del Cabo. They were both unforgettable experiences.
I really liked Playa Grande very much. The on site store was well stocked. The valets and personnel were pleasant and helpful.

Mexican Grossinger'sPosted Feb 23, 2014
Every evening was a theme night with good but not great food and live entertainment. It reminded me of the Borscht Belt in its hayday. Not bad, but not what I expected. The worst part of our stay was when we were immediately accosted after check in by teams of young ladies in white tunics, pressuring us to sign up for time shares at their new adjacent resort in exchange for daily excursions or food and beverage coupons. High pressure and irritating. Not why I went on vacation with my family. By the way, within walking distance is downtown Cabos San Lucas. It is seedy by any definition, so it's not a viable escape from the resort.

Room location.Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: See above
Our room location was not very nice. Only partial view of marina but really nice view of the restaurant parking lot. It was located on the lower level ( I guess somebody has to stay in these rooms ). Not that we used it but the pull out closet bed had a very bad moldy smell that you could smell every time you walked by. The property is listed as a 4-6 star but that must be Mexico rating. All said the pool areas were great with great views, quite, and not crowded. The resort is located close to everything. We had a car but we walked to dinner most nights.

If you like downtown Cabo you will love the PlayaPosted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: We liked the overall beauty and maintenance of the facility. We really liked the completeness of the room and the service. The staff was upbeat.
Cons: Actually, the primary thing I would improve would be to build/create an open air bar in a tiki hut down by the beach. The current bars are dull.
Location: The location is just perfect, out of town but in town. The beach is beautiful and all the activities of the marina and locale restaurants are near!!!
We have visited Cabo before and really like it. We decided to stay in town this trip. It was a great decision and the Playa Grande was a major reason. Beautiful Hotel with an excellent Staff and very nice facilities. The rooms are very well equipped and the addition of a second Bath and a full kitchen was a nice bonus. The overall facility is immaculately maintained and almost too quiet. We only ate breakfast their but it was very nice and well presented by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had a car but only used it for day trips out of town. The valet service is excellent. The walking distance to town is convenient and very safe any time of day so you really do not need a car unless you are taking day trips. The beach is clean and actually quite private. The pools are large and pleasant. From our experience, the prices for rooms and food are very attractive. We are from Southwest Florida and a comparable Hotel would cost 2 to 3 times as much in our area. A very nice experience and we will definitely use this hotel again.

Loved!Posted Feb 21, 2014
Cons: Just add internet!
Location: Very close to the marina so walking to your water activities - water taxi, whale watching, diving... - are a breeze!
Absolutely loved our hotel suite, the staff were great, hotel grounds were well kept and the location was wonderful! Just observations - no oven and no tp allowed in the toilet. And no one ever bothered us for a time share. If you rent a car, the hotel will forward directions but be forewarn, the closer you get to Cabo San Lucas, the crazier the driving gets & you need to treat crossing roads like a four way stop. It's an experience especially near the hotel. We went to Wal-mart (they have alcohol!) & the kitchen provided everything we needed to prepare whatever. We never had to exchange our money - everyone took American dollars - the toll road, restaurants, tipping the staff at the hotel (and the baggers at Wal-mart.)

Great Hotel.Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Everything. Staff very friendly. Great restaurant we ate in with a great happy hour (two for one). The grounds of this hotel are really exceptional.
Location: Ony there for one night so not applicable for things to do near by. Taxi ride from Los Cabos Airport if direct about 30 mins away.
This is a very nice hotel in a very good location. Great food with quite reasonable prices for this area. Very clean. Great sofa bed in living area which is very unusual in hotels, they are usually very uncomfortable. This one was not. Very comfortable king size bed in the master bedroom. Would stay here again for a longer period of time as we were there for only one night.

On the beach and an easy walk into town.Posted Feb 9, 2014
Pros: On the beach with great views from every room.
Cons: No significant deficiencies.
Location: This hotel is within walking distance to Cabo San Lucas and the Marina which is a real asset.
This hotel's location is the best in Cabo. The combination of being right on the beach and within walking distance to town makes for a most enjoyable experience.
