Pros: The pools.
Cons: Communication!
Location: Nice location to downtown Cabo.
The Hotel did not prepare or communicate well with any of the customers staying during Hurricane Odile. The management was more than a disappointment so I won't return and would not be able to suggest this place to stay.

As you can imagine, the days that followed Hurricane Odile were difficult and unprecedented for this region of Mexico. While we have had many tropical storms and hurricanes pass through Los Cabos in the past, Hurricane Odile was close to a category 4, the largest and most powerful storm to come through this area in many, many years. We certainly learned many lessons from Hurricane Odile. We will be applying this knowledge to our planning for the future, in hopes that we will never have to use it but prepared in case we do. Our executive team is working closely with destination officials and supporting any and all efforts to ensure the destination is back on its feet quickly and that we have even better plans in place should we encounter a situation of this magnitude again. Our goal, as always, is to ensure that our guests have the best experience possible. We hope that you will one day return to our Resort for the vacation you deserve. Sincerely

Removed from the action but can't complain

Pros: The Ridge pool and bar!
Cons: Location is a bit removed from the action, but makes for a good walk and really you could happily spend a week without leaving the resort.
Location: Near the marina, a bit of a walk to bars but definitely doable. Just be prepared for all the people wanting you to spend money along the way.
We stayed from Wednesday September 3 - 10 and thought we were unlucky with hurricane norbert that kept us indoors for 2 days. We were very sorry to see the devastation that followed only 5 days after our departure from hurricane odile, and sincerely hope that our new pool friends including Jose and Juan are safe and Ok. For our part we had a magical time at Playa Grande. We were displeased to learn on arrival that the main pool area was closed for renovation but this still left 8 available pools including two amazing adults only infinity pools, one with swim up bar and water slide. So we could not complain. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We did feel a little harassed by people wanting us to spend money both on and off the resort, but I guess this is to be expected when you visit somewhere like Cabo. Overall I would definitely recommend and I hope the Playa Grande and staff are recovering quickly from the horrible recent events.

My vacation to Los Cabos

Pros: I liked everything, it is well situated. Our room was big and had everything in it.
Cons: Maybe they can improve the pricing for the all inclusive. 91 dollars a day per person when you are four and staying 10 days is too much.
Location: Everything is near, now we kept going to Mega supermarket to do our grocery shopping. It is a place I highly recommend.
I went there with all my family and I highly recommend this hotel resort. We fell in love with this place. It will be on my list from now. We spent 10 days in paradise that is how I can describe our adventure.

Beautiful Resort

Pros: Beautiful hotel & grounds with all rooms with ocean view. Pools were nice, especially Ridge pool. Once main pool is finished it will be perfect
Cons: They should give provide more information about all restaurants on site. Never knew hours or menu except for the Lobby Bar & Restaurant.
Location: Location was beautiful on the Pacific side. Not many people. We walked into town which wasn't far. Cab rides to and from town were plentiful.
I loved this resort. We were there first week of September. The hotel main pool was being worked on, but they still had other pools available. Hurricane Norbert decided we didn't need to swim in a pool! Our check-in was flawless and also getting our pool key. The woman asked if we were interested in timeshare presentation and declined. We were never bothered again. Our room was upgraded to a 1 bdrm suite which was so nice. It was on 3rd floor and I know higher floors had better views, but ours was still amazing. We had a couple issues with our room, but maintenance was on it immediately and then followed up to make sure. Maid serve was fabulous. They came quickly each morning and left plenty of towels and supplies. Our check out was also painless. No issues with our bill. We opted for 2 days of internet service due to the hurricane and it worked perfectly. After the hurricane staff was up and at it - cleaning, organizing, making it beautiful again. Staff was so very nice everywhere at the resort. On last day in Cabo a sea turtle came onto the beach to lay her eggs. Playa Grande has staff on hand to take the eggs to incubate and release. 3 staff members watched over her until she laid the eggs and went back into the sea. They carefully dug up the eggs. I was able to watch the process the staff members there were knowlegeable and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. It was a lovely last experience.

Play Grande

Pros: The staff was great at communicating and meeting our needs .
Cons: Walking up and down the hills from the street level .
Location: Marina.
The hotel's pools were under construction . The construction started at 08:00 each morning til around 18:00 hr's .

Nice hotel and staff on the Pacific

Pros: The staff really was nice.
Cons: fix the AC and get rid of the Ants. More ATMs. No ATM at the hotel and sister hotel was out of order. Staff wouldn't take you to the marina.
Location: things to do near by are bars and beaches.
1. Hotel Staff were very nice and helpful overall. However (and I will go into this more), when asked to do something above and beyond, they fell short. 2. Facilities - The rooftop pools were very nice (though there was a few backswimmers I saw in the pool) and the staff was incredible and attentive to your needs. The food and drinks were wonderful and you never had to wait long for a drink to show up in your hand. The reason for only 4 stars, and now I think I should change it to 3 was that the rooftop pool was the only option. They did have a "main" pool but that was under repair. When I say repair I mean jackhammers going from 8am to 6pm and then more work at least until 10pm after that. It was very disappointing and loud. All the other resorts in the chain had the same thing going so you could not get away from it. Wish we would have known this prior to booking so we could have gone somewhere else. 3. The room was great and the front desk made up for the construction by upgrading us to a ocean front suite. The room was incredible. Great views and great location, that is, if the jackhammer noise all day didn't bother you. We didn't spend much time in the room during the day so it was not much of a problem. 4. As for room comfort and cleanliness, it was clean but we did have ants a few times and the AC in the bedroom didn't work all that well. It was also very damp even with the AC on. - Overall nice hotel and would recommend if not for construction. They need an ATM BAD

Great hotel right on Solmar beach and close to DT!

Pros: Rooms large and nice, pools were great (when not under construction), breakfast buffet, happy hour, cleanliness
Cons: Offer alternatives/compensation if amenities like the two main pools are closed or there is early (8am!) construction/jackhammering going on
Location: Location is great - only 10-15 minute walk (with some incline/decline) to the marina and downtown, both land and water activities very close by
Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff friendly and very helpful. Had great service at the pool and all restaurants. We got the luxury suite and the kitchen and 2 bathrooms were great for our group of 3. The rollaway type bed was not very comfortable, so our 3rd slept on the futon couch. Our suite was in Building A on the first level (above the ground level) and faced the ocean. Our view of the Pacific Ocean was phenomenal, only issue was that the crashing waves were loud and could be heard when trying to sleep. We visited during the shoulder season (Labor Day) and were lucky to visit in between Hurricane Marie and the storms that came through right after we left. The city was pretty deserted and there weren't alot of tourists around when we were there, so we got better service, little to no waiting for a table and lots of options. The only 2 downsides were that lots of resorts and businesses were closed for renovations and the weather was VERY HUMID. Playa Grande gave us a letter when we checked in saying that one of the pools (the one with the swim up bar) would be closed for renovations but that the main pool would remain open. This did not happen and within 4 days of being there, they closed the main pool so that only the small adult pool was left open. They also do not let you visit the pools at the Ridge if you are not a Ridge guest. You can't even eat at the restaurant at the Ridge either! This was very upsetting.

Pool construction was very noisy

Pros: The staff were without exception friendly and helpful.
Cons: Mgmt should clearly state at time of booking that the pools are under construction, reduce rates & give passes to use the pools at its other resorts.
Location: Swim with the dolphins at Cabo Dolphins, sunset cruise with La Princesa, shopping in the marina area, dinner at El Farallon, and relax at the spa.
We stayed 5 nights over Labor Day weekend. This is the low season because it is likely to be rainy, but there was not a drop of rain during our stay. The resort is older but well constructed and well maintained. Our room was in the "O" building. The room was very spacious - we had a suite with a king size bed in a bedroom with en suite, plus the living room had a double size futon couch and a single Murphy bed. The suite had a full kitchen and also a second full bathroom. The room was very clean, but the tile floors always felt sticky. I think the housekeepers put something on the floors so they won't be slippery. The furniture could use a little updating - at least new cushions for the chairs in the LR/DR. When we arrived, one of the pools on our side of the resort was closed and under repair, and by the end of our stay all 3 pools on our side were closed. Construction noise (read jackhammers) started around 6:00-7:00 am and went on all day. The resort management did not offer day passes to other (nicer) resorts owned by the same company, but we also did not complain. Mostly the noise was masked by the air conditioner running 24/7, but we could not enjoy our balconies to watch the sunrise due to noise. We generally left the resort for planned activities by 9:00 am, but it would have been nice to be able to order breakfast in to enjoy the balcony or to have a quiet pool to relax in.

Great hotel in excellent location

We had a great 2 day stay and will definitely return when we have more time. We didn't get a chance to explore all that the resort had to offer. Unfortunately, the main pool was being serviced but the adult was great and they made arrangements with sister resorts.
