Very fun, great location, unfortunate circumstance

Posted Jun 27, 2015
Great staff, huge resort! Food at Brigantine was just ok, but the lobby bar was really good with 2 for 1 Margarita's and awesome starters before we headed out downtown every night. The only real bummer was that the 2 restaurants that were supposed to be right outside of our room were being remodeled (or possibly fixed from the hurricane 9 months ago?), but either way we were down to just 2 restaurants on the property and one kinda sucked. Would definitely go back when the restaurants are fully operational!

Nice hotel; beautiful view; very nice staff.

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: View, room comfortability
Cons: Free wifi, ff
Location: One of the biggest reason I choose this hotel is the location. It is right in the heart of downtown where everything is walking distance.
This was my second visit to Playa Grande Hotel. I love this hotel because rooms are nice and spacious. There is a great view from every room. Pool is nice and although renovations are being done from hurricane there are plenty of things to get into once you in the hotel.

Nice resort with easy access to marina and town.

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Cons: Wifi and gym should be included for free. Prices for both were ridiculous.
Location: The location was very convenient to town and we walked into town everyday for meals. Unfortunately you can't swim in the ocean.
Overall a great experience. It was very relaxing to lounge by the pools at this resort. We were woke up the first morning by construction workers, but it didn't happen any other mornings. They are still repairing an outside bar that was damaged last year during the hurricane.

Amazing Hotel right on the beach!!!

Posted Jun 24, 2015
I loved absolutely everything. It was a great price, near downtown and the harbor, and right on the beach. The room was stunning, clean, and the staff was super friendly! The only bad thing was Wi-Fi. It costs $13 a day and didn't work. Don't even bother and just stay disconnected.

Really nice hotel for a nice price, sales pitchy

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Great location, beautiful room and property.
Cons: Don't force us to sit through a sales pitch.
Location: A beautiful location right on the beach and a quick walk or cab ride to Cabo's downtown/Marina area.
We arrived for a fun weekend at the Playa Grande resort. After checking in we were told to visit the "hospitality desk" for pool towel passes...a little weird but ok. The Hospitality Desk turned out to be an interview and a sales pitch for a timeshare. Not super pleased to be required to do that. Once we indicated (a few times) that we weren't interested, they let us go to our rooms. The rooms and facilities were very nice, to be sure. The property was beautiful. once we got past the sales pitch, it was a wonderful time.

Great location near Marina/Downtown

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Location, clean, friendly staff, spacious rooms, full kitchen, and plenty of deck loungers by the pools. Staff is attentive and ready to please.
Cons: WiFi is expensive, spotty, and needs work. Room does smell musty upon entering. Expensive if not an owner or timeshare guest.
Location is key for this property. Right on the beach (NO SWIMMING) and walking distance to the Marina and Downtown. The best resort if you are looking for dining, shops, tours, and excursions with the local operators. All within walking distance. Very safe area also. Best restaurant is down the hill...Romeo & Juliet...awesome. NOT a place to stay if you want to walk out onto a beach and jump in the ocean. Being from San Diego, and excellent swimmers we chose this place believing we could swim anyway. We swim black/red flag all over the world...not here. The beach drops off (6 ft) to rough rough waves. Don't believe the pictures and think....I can swim there, the kids will love it. NO, no they won't. NOBODY is even on the beach...it is just sand and a dropoff to the wave break. You can look and hear the ocean..it is clean and gorgeous. Just not for swimming. All the reviews are here are correct, but I feel the need to really hammer home the point, you will NOT be swimming right off your room. You will NEED a ride to a swimmable beach....even that one is not all that great. Full of cruise patrons, vendors, and just packed, as there is no where else to go in Cabo proper to be on the beach.

Dear Andy, Thank you for your kind words, I agree that our property offers a Great location and our staff do the best to provide a friendly and professional service all the time About swimming in the ocean, we suggest our guests not to do it, since it is open sea, but our staff can give you some information about the closest beaches where you can go for a swim, and enjoy yourself in our magical spots with beautifully clear water. I look forward to welcoming you back as our guest soon. Be assured that my staff and I will take the utmost care to make sure you're accommodated in everything you desire. And make of your next visit a very enjoyable and remarkable stay for you. Have a great day. Sincerely,

Beautiful resort in a great location!

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: The swim-up pool bar, the proximity to the beach and the free welcome drink :)
Cons: Guests should be provided free wifi.
Location: Amazing location, right on the beach.
The staff at the resort were so helpful and kind. The room we had was very spacious with 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, a living and dining area and 2 balconies! The balconies even had an ocean view. During the week, the staff hosted activities at the main pool with prizes like free drinks and gift certificates.

bedding situation crazy/no bottled water

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: Nice pools
Cons: Bottled water. Accurate information about beds. Don't make people hear time share sales pitches before using accommodations they have paid for.
They said our room could sleep 5 but one bed was a few couch cushions to put on the floor and one was a toddler sized bed that folded out of a small box that the person had to sleep enclosed in part of the box. And they did not provide bottled water even after admitting that their water could make tourists sick. And they have extra steps to check in that are only so you have to hear a time share sales pitch--even to get your pool cards for towels. Their priority is selling time shares not accommodating hotel guests.

Beautiful hotel. Attentive service.

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: Location, staff and hotel condition.
Location: Close to town and many restaurants and bars.
Was in Cabo for a wedding at the Playa Grande. It is a beautiful hotel, well maintained, attentive staff and great location. Even though Hurricane Blanca paid a visit during our stay, the staff was up to the challenge and didn't miss a beat. We would stay there again. Also, the water is safe to drink there!
