Wonderful Resort in Beautiful Cabo San Lucas!Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: All you can eat and drink is a great deal. Food is not hometown buffet quality, it is of great quality. All you can eat lobster on one night!
Cons: Nothing, it is a wonderful resort.
Location: Take a nice walk on the beach or water taxi to the marina (downtown). Check out the mango deck. As the locals will tell you, you must visit El Arco!
After a long ride from the airport to the resort, my girlfriend and I were welcomed in and helped by Beth at the front desk. She was extremely helpful checking us in and providing information about the resort and nearby attractions. Afterwards, we immediately went to the room, and I must say, the rooms are beautiful! The first thing you will notice is the massive bed. It puts the California King sized bed to shame. In addition, you will also notice multiple liquor bottles on tap, which is never a bad thing.I want to make clear that the food at this resort is top notch. I personally find it comparable to many fine dining restaurants I have been to. The best part is that it is comparable and buffet style (at El Medano and Mar de Cortes at least). There are also 4 specialty restaurants consisting of Mexican, French-Fusion, Japanese and a Steakhouse. You must try them all! We also managed to go to the Marina where there is a wonderful flea market and a nice beach that many of the locals go to. There is an abundance of water sports that you can pay for including jet skiing, parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, whatever you want to do. I would recommend to enjoy what the resort has to offer, but do not be afraid to venture away and check out what else the city has to offer. Oh yeah, do not worry about exchanging for pesos, Cabo is so touristy, your US dollars will work just fine. Enjoy!

riu palace caboPosted May 20, 2015
It was a terrible experience. I stayed here for a bachelorette party and all the rooms smelled like mildew or mold and the rooms were so outdated along with the bathroom. The bath tub had paint chips & rust. The toilet was not a full seat. We had the ocean view room. The all inclusive food was inedible and the staff was only so so and would not book the restaurant Krystal without a tip even when it was empty they said they were full! I will not be coming back..such a disappointment..

Wonderful experiencePosted May 19, 2015
Pros: See above. The staff was so helpful and friendly and provided great service. My room was lovely and everything was really clean.
Cons: The pool could have been heated, particularly in the morning. Signage for hotel on main road needs to be marked clearly.
Location: Great location on the beach. We had a car and could get to town and marina quickly.
This was my first time at an all inclusive resort and I was not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful, enjoyed sitting in the lobby, ocean views from the many decks and balconies, outdoor breakfast buffet, all the fine dining.

Superb hotel on the beach with wonderful view!Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Beautiful grounds, great pools and bars at the pool, great staff and fabulous views.
Cons: The room was a little musty smelling and the door in the bathroom when opened actually touched the commode. A little awkward.
Location: Easy to get to Cabo and the golf courses. We did have a rental car
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas is a beautiful property with magnificent views of the Sea of Cortez and Land's End. The all inclusive resort has great food at all the restaurants with a variety to suit all tastes. The grounds are immaculate and the service provided by the staff at the front desk, the pool bars, restaurants and bars at the hotel are top notch. I will be back. The Cabo San Lucas Country Club, Cabo Real golf course and the two Cabo Del Sol courses are close by and provide outstanding views with well maintained grounds

Relaxing HoneymoonPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: The staff is very welcoming. VERY CLEAN. Views are amazing. Felt very safe staying here. They take security very seriously. Never felt overcrowded.
Cons: Entertainment is lacking. Themed shows each night, not that great. If it's bad weather, not much to do. Themed restaurants are nothing special either.
Location: Location is excellent. Downtown is only a short taxi ride away. There, you have access to the Marina and many restaurants and shops. Also very safe.
This hotel was phenomenal from start to finish of our trip. Our airport transportation dropped us off at 2:30p and check-in wasn't until 3, so they were more than happy to get us squared away and go eat at the buffet or have a drink at the bar while we waited. Our room (4102) was on the top floor and had an amazing view of the activities pool and the ocean. We were located right near the elevators which was convenient. The room itself was above average, large bathroom, King-size bed, mini-fridge which always had soda and beer loaded in it. The balcony was nice to sit an listen to the ocean and take in the views. They kept the rooms very clean throughout the duration of our trip. We spent a lot of the days sitting by the pool, the activity pool (and the smaller pools with the swim-up bar) is really fun to be around if you're into the more party atmosphere. There is a quieter pool that doesn't play music and is more for the mellow crowd. If you want a spot with an umbrella, wake up early and claim your spot as they tend to get taken quick. When we ventured into town, taxi service was available right at the front lobby and we never had to wait more than 2 minutes for a taxi. The cost is kind of high in my opinion for such a short ride, but walking is just not an option for how far it would be. Once in town, the mall is being worked on but what has been completed is very nice, as is the whole Marina. Much to do and eat or drink! The resort and Cabo itself was overall amazing!

Not the place if you want a peaceful calming tripPosted May 18, 2015
This resort is definitely place if you want to party. My wife and I booked this to get away for a week to enjoy a nice calm peaceful vacation to de-stress. The place is very nice and the rooms are clean. The food was good except the Japanese restaurant was not great... buffet was better. The Mexican restaurant was very good along with the steak place. Everyday there is a quite pool and a activities pool... i really couldn't tell the difference. I heard nothing but screaming and partying the whole time on both sides. Couple of the nights 20 somethings were yelling at midnight up and down hallways drunk. The place reminded me of spring break the whole time and its the middle of May. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The drinks were decent... Bartenders really don't recommend much when you ask. The night shows were good and entertaining. I would go there again if I was looking for more of a party place... this time just looking for calm place which didn't happen.

Wonderful hotel with great people.Posted May 17, 2015
The hotel was beautiful and the staff great. The only complaints were no hot water for showers and unable to swim in the ocean.
