“Solmar”

This hotel is great I would highly recommend it. You can either walk to the bay or take a short (very short) taxi ride. It is a walk away from everything but the hotel is very private. I would suggest upgrading to a junior room because there is nothing better than the view that you get. Make sure you take a water taxi to Lovers beach and don't miss the Arch. Another great spot would be the view that you get at Margaritavilla. I enjoyed sitting at the bar and drinking a huge Margarita while watching everyone go by.

“quaint resort”

Solmar is a nice little hotel. It is clean, with friendly staff. We had a room with a patio that opened onto the sand. Great for the little ones to dig in the sand. It is off the tourist trail, but within walking distance. You can use the shuttle to hang out at the sister property Playa Grande, which is gorgeous. The beach is not swimable, but there are 2 nice pools.The only bad thing was one night the waves were crashing so hard, I couldn't sleep! We would stay again in a heartbeat.

“Only Motel for me.”

Small and intimate, Not a grand resort, but a quick convienient walk to town. and the real Cabo.

“I like it, was close to everyplace. We had fun.”

We traveled three couples, all were family, have fun, enjoy everyday because we had wonderfull weather, and I like the bar in the pool, during the day we spent lot of time there, with very good food too.

“Plan to return next year”

We were here from Oct 8-15 2006. Loved the location. Food in both restaurants was excellent and reasonably priced. Hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and accomodating. Spectacular views of the ocean from the pool and junior suites. We plan to return at the same time next year.

“Really nice time!”

As a 64 year old couple, we really appreciated the quiet atmosphere and natural beauty surrounding this hotel. Nice accomodations, on the Pacific, close to the wharf, shopping and restaurant district. It was a short walk on the beach to Divorce Beach and Lovers Beach and Cabos "Angels" were there to help us older ones over the rocks and show us the way . The walk up the hill to the hotel was a little tiring, but shuttles and buses were available if needed, and we chose not to use them. I didn't see any elevators, and we were on a mountain with several levels requiring steps or ramps to get to the street level. We stayed at the older hotel, as the new one is still under construction, but it did not interfere with our stay at all. We watched the cranes for entertainment from the pool and our patios. We noticed that time share salesmen and hawkers were much more courteous and didn't harass us as in the past. Very nice week, loved to hear the ocean and great whale watching.

“Fantastic place to stay in Cabo”

It's far enough away from the riff raff of town, but in walking distance. Large private beach with no public access. Great service and food. We will always stay at Solmar when visiting Cabo.

“A slice of old mexico.....”

We had the opportunity to be in a newer, ocean view room upon arrival and then we elected to move to the older building to a ground level, ocean front room. What a spectacular view!! The hotel was very clean and the grounds keep and maintenance staff work diligently to keep it that way. The walk to town thru the marina is easy and an experience. The Fiesta night was fun, food was good, swim up bar a blast, happy hour a must!!! Music at the pool would be a great addition to add to the atmosphere. The hotel has great character. Can't wait to go back!!

“Great place to stay in Cabo.....”

Solmar Suites is an excellent place to stay in Cabo. It's only a 10 minute walk down to the marina. The La Roca restaurant has excellent food. The oceanfront junior suite was very clean, the only drawback was that the walls are very thin and you can hear everything that is going on in the room next door. This hotel is secluded with beautiful surroundings. If you are up for it, you can climb over the rocks to Lover's Beach. It's a little tricky, so be careful and go with a buddy! :) Hope this helps!

“Great Place and Location”

Just got back. Picked hotel due to fabulous location on beach with few hotels around and short walk to town. Hearing that ocean was fantastic. Staff great. Did walk over rocks to Lovers Beach which was hard but doable. Just be careful of the tides as when high you will not be able to get back over rocks & will have to take a boat. Would definitely go back. Most relaxing.
