Nice staff

The hotel has a good location, the staff is excellent but just next to it there is an other hotel in construction and the noise is so high.. Also in the beach there is a crane that starts in the morning to move huges rocks and ends in the evening.. Not really relaxing..

Great view

Solmar is a very small resort. It's also very quiet. If you're looking for a wild springbreak style resort this is not one but if you want a quiet clean but older place with great food this is it. On the beach and a short walk from the marina.

Smaller resort right on the beach.

Posted May 13, 2015
This is the second time we stayed here and we plan on coming back. We visited in May and construction is still going on next door at the Grand Solmar, a few days the jackhammer was a bit loud. The staff is very attentive. You can lounge at the pool and order from the sushi bar (Armando makes excellent sushi) or restaurant while staring at the ocean. Does it get any better? We like the location because you can walk to the marina in about 10 minutes, it is uphill on the way back.

Spring break 2015 cabo san Lucas

Place in under construction so access is lacking. Grounds are very plain just dirt and sand Rooms are very outdated. The sliding glass doors need to be fixed they rattle with any kind of wind. Food and service is fantastic.

Noisy all inclusive hassle.

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: The bed. That's about it.
Cons: So much! Reservations. Food. Service. Noise.
Booked what I thought would be an easy going, all inclusive quiet oasis in Cabo. It was a hassle from the very start. We booked a suite, but when we arrived, they only had a small room available. They refused to comp us back the cost of paying for the suite and said they would move us the next day. The all inclusive was always a hassle. It would take staff forever to come take our orders. We were told that beers would be ready for us in our rooms when we arrived and when there wasn't any in our fridge, we called down and the staff said that we would have to pay for it. The food on site and in the restaurant is way below resort standard and was not worth the extra cost. I paid for wireless internet and it hardly worked. The bar closes exactly 5 minutes before 10pm so if you want a late cap, don't count on it. The worst part of the whole experience was that there was construction happening on the property, so instead of waking up to the sound of waves, you wake up to the sound of drills, cranes moving cement blocks, and construction trucks. And forget the view. Your view will most likely be moving trucks and construction materials. And be careful when you try to access the beach. The pathway to the beach is also the route the construction trucks take. Overall it was not the relaxing all inclusive experience I was looking for. Would not return to this resort.

So relaxing!

My husband and I stayed at Solmar for 5 nights the first week of May and enjoyed it tremendously. The hotel staff are very friendly and hardworking. They keep the hotel spotless! The rooms are not "new", but I like the old Mexico style. the Jr. Suite is a good size room. The patio was the best, awesome view for morning coffee. The walk to the beach is 5 minutes, no vendors! It's not a swimming beach, but you can still walk the beach and enjoy the view which was all I wanted. The other side is for swimming if you need that, choose a hotel there. the first night we had noisy neighbors, they were settled when I called the front desk. They have a restaurant, snack bar and sushi bar. It was great. The large pool has a bar and there is another pool too. We used gray line for transport back and forth. We didn't have one charge on our card from the entire trip! Really is all-inclusive 😃 the marina is a ten minute walk where you can shop too. Loved our relaxing trip! They are doing construction- nothing I couldn't ignore. They don't work on weekends, and they try to keep it at a minimum, but construction is everywhere, not just at this hotel. You do have to sign for all your food and drinks just like you were paying, but it is part of the all-inclusive. There's not a lot going on in the evening at this hotel, which is what I wanted, but you can go to the other hotel or to town for that.

Pros: All inclusive makes easy for eating headache. But need self control not to over eat.
Location: Good location except the beach is not swimming beach. Everything else is nice and clean and close to town.
Not bad except I was looking for a beach that is swimming beach. But there is one within walking distance. So I will visit it again .
