From Louisa, it's roughly 100 miles (161 kilometers) to the west to Lexington and 120 miles (193 kilometers) to the northwest to Cincinnati.
Staying in only one place, regardless of its popularity, will only ever provide you with a glimpse into the broader rhythms and life-ways of a region. So be sure to visit Eastern Kentucky's other cities, attractions and landscapes. Kenova and Catlettsburg are two more places you may wish to visit while you're in Eastern Kentucky.
When you are ready to venture further afield why not visit the nearest regional area. Huntington sits 25 miles (40 kilometers) away and features sights including Keith Albee Theatre, Marshall University and Huntington Museum of Art. Be sure not to return to Louisa until you've checked out Huntington's Ritter Park and Pullman Square.
This area has a number of great places to enjoy fishing, so ensure you fit that into your itinerary. Boating is another popular activity here.
Sadly, vacations can't go on forever, so when it's time go home, head to the nearest major airport in Huntington, 18 miles (29 kilometers) to the north.
