“Great hotel average breakfast”

The hotel was great but the breakfast was mediocre, not along the same quality of other country inns. Was in town for the Louisville slugger museum, other than that not much to do in Louisville

“Good experience”

We are very familiar with Country Inns and Suites. I stay at one of their properties whenever possible while travelling since 1997. My family and I had the same great experience I've come to expect. This property was extremely easy to get to. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My children LOVED the cookies at check-in. The pool was great, and we were the only ones in it when we were there. The only thing that freaked me out a little was to go out on the walled patio next to the pool and find a maintenance person out there smoking. All I could think was "What are you doing smoking in a guest area?" Breakfast was fine, with enough plainness to satisfy my picky-eater child, and enough variety to satisfy my eats-everything child.

Area recommendations

I don't know Louisville well at all, so this area would be what I recommend. It's easy to get to, and there's a lot of stuff to do nearby.

“Not Impressed”

When we arrived at our room the entire floor smelled like something had just died. Someone did come and spray to help with the smell but it never completely went away. The pool area was extremely small! There was nowhere for people to sit who were not swimming in the pool, standing room only. All three of my girls severely cut their toes on the bottom of the pool. Two of them had difficulty walking the next day because of the extent of the cuts. We stayed there one night and if we had to stay longer we would have gone somewhere else. The staff themselves were all courteous but the conditions were not to our satisfaction.

“When In Louisville ...........”

Easy access location, lots of restaurants in the area and close to bigtime movie complex too. Felt secure in the surrounding area. Just a quick drive to Fairgrounds where we were headed.

“a great value”

I wasn't familiar with the tradename when I made the reservation, and the price was very reasonable, so my expectations weren't overly high. But I was surprised and pleased with all aspects of my stay. The man who checked us in was very friendly and quick, and fresh baked cookies at the desk were a welcome sight. The room was large, well equipped and comfortable. The free breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold items. At our next stop further south we stayed at a more expensive "upscale" chain and it was not nearly as nice as the Country Inn and Suites in Louisville. I would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations

it was a quick overnight stop so we didn't see a lot of the city, but were able to get to Churchill Downs and would recommend that to visitors.

“vaca”

The staff at the Country Inn was very polite and helpful. The room was very nice and so was the pool area. There did need to be more lights on in the pool area.

“Not A Repeat Property for Us”

The hotel staff was very friendly at check-in. Our room which had a sign outside the door saying it was "non-smoking" smelled quite the opposite. I have never had a hotel room smell so much like someone had just been smoking in it. It was late, we were tired, so we turned the air conditioning up to air the place out and left to go get something to eat. I have always loved this hotel chain, but will not stay at this particular property again. The room looked dingy and dirty, cobwebs in several places, carpet looked dirty, would not go barefoot in this room.

“Nice place for large groups.”

I checked in with a large group. The Desk Clerk was friendly and efficient. My room was exactly what I expected and the rooms for our group were great. The breakfast buffet had variety and was enjoyable.

Area recommendations

This hotel was close to our volleyball venue and was close to a lot of restaurants.
