Staff was wonderful and really made our anniversary weekend getaway special! Great location downtown and the hotel amenities are wonderful. The hotel connects to everything and makes it very convenient. We would definitely stay here again!

Pros: Location, quality and the Rivue Sunday brunch is a must do.
Location: Short one night stay but easy check-in. Walking distance to a few exhibits & museums plus the riverboat cruises.
Nice with amenities such as hair dryer plus ironing board & iron. Clean and very comfortable room.

The Galt House

Great experience with the hotel and surrounding businesses. My wife and I stayed in a suite with a water view. Rooms are dated but have been maintained nicely. Food was good and atmosphere was great. Each employee of the hotel I spoke to was courteous and polite. Our only blah moment came leaving parking garage. Our parking was suppose to be taken care of (as a gift from the hotel & staff) due to this being my wife and I's 5th wedding anniversary. We had to pay $15 for parking when we left, but those things happen. A very good experience overall.

Business Trip

When I signed up through Expedia, I wanted a one king bed room and put down for it. When I arrived, I received a 2 queen room. Had to move to a new room due to a smell of cigarettes and mold. The next two days were very pleasant in the hotel. The last night of my trip, the person next door to me started smoking and it came through the door into my room. I notified the staff, told them I did not want to switch rooms again on the last night, but that I did not want to be charged either for my room smelling of smoke (this was a non smoking hall). I was not charged, but smoking kind of ruined the experience.

The Gault House hotel'a website projects a beautiful downtown hotel in Louisville with amenities such as restaurants, shops, easy downtown access and offered a welcome package along with Louder Than Life. In reality the trip took us until 11:00 to check in due to the concert. There was no extras to being part of the concert crowd and the staff were a bit "snobby". We had purchased 2 rooms for 1 night. Both had awesome views and was clean. Room 2 was not well stocked by housekeeping from the previous guest. We also tried to eat at The 24 hour restaurant and considered getting drinks at the bar. The crowd was terrible. After waiting 15 minutes in an unmoved line we decided to leave late for food. The aquarium bar was nothing exciting. Upon checkout we encountered an additional headache of waiting a significant amount of time for the elevator, stopping at all floors below 20. We will not stay at Gault House again, completely overrated.
