“Very Nice Place”

Overall it was a good choice on this trip. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was very good and the lady who staffed it was very friendly. I enjoyed her company. Loved the layout and the privacy. Very quiet place with beautiful decor.

“Will be returning AGAIN!”

Last visit, I noted a bit of a "run down" look to the rooms. The rooms are in the process of being renovated and the end product is going to be gorgeous! Can't wait to go back after the work is done.

“Great staff”

The staff was extremely helpful. Quick check in, answered any questions. Quick response on phone when couldn't connect to the internet. Breakfast was very good and the staff there was friendly. Certainly helps in the early morning hours!

“Not as impressed as last two trips.”

The thing we enjoy the most is the availability of a varied breakfast which is part of your room fee. I do feel we were misled about the availability of the penthouse rooms with two real beds. The hotel overall is starting to look a bit "run down". We do realize, however, that finances are tight for everybody and maybe they just can't afford to upgrade carpet and paint and what not. We have booked another stay there. During the last stay, we were told by the manager that the type of room we wanted could be booked in advance. When we tried to do that for the upcoming November trip, we were told "it all depends on whether or not those rooms are open" and they would not make any guarantee. We continue to stay there primarily because of the location.

Area recommendations

East End... primarily because of the availability of services, restaurants, etc.

“Gone downhill.”

My husband works in Louisvile every other week and occasionally I go along. We have always stayed here. Two weeks ago we did so again. I know the economy is bad so the Manger's Reception is not what it once once, heck the breakfast is no longer anything to write home about, but it is included in the price of the hotel so it's all good. What was not good was when I went down to breakfast and found that I had missed it completely. The flyer on my fridge said til 9:30, however they only served til 8:30. I went to the front desk to complain and the "kind" woman at the desk said she would send somebody to pick up the incorrect flyer from my room-that was a great relief to a hungry stomach!

“I definitely will stay again.”

The only very small issue I had was that the room did not seem as if it had been cleaned as well as it was during my last two visits.

“Not Impressed”

The hotel just wasn't as modern as advertised. The room amenities were pretty outdated and the decor was forgettable. Most positive aspect was that it wasn't that far from Freedom Hall.

There was nothing wrong with the surrounding area. The hotel was in a great location. It's just that the hotel itself wasn't great.

“Marriott Residence Inn - St. Matthews, KY”

This is an older property and needs to be renovated. The carpets are old and stained; the furnishings are uncomfortable and the rooms smell. I would NOT RECOMMEND this property to anyone.
