Beautiful location, fantastic value

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: Location, ambience, tranquility and the staff.
Cons: Cooler rooms. Oil the door hinges.
Not an area we are familiar with, came up for a friends funeral and stayed because it was such a long journey (this is an area you head to for a reason, you don't discover it just passing through). The hotel is in a very quiet rural location. There were quite a lot of golfers staying, funny that as it is a golf club! The room was booked as a twin, there were actually two king size beds and the room was enormous. Clean, comfortably furnished, excellent, couldn't really ask for more. Had dinner in the evening. As it was a Friday they had a fish special, two courses for two people plus a bottle of wine for 29.95 - superb value. The room was really quiet - had the window open all night, nothing but the sound of (distant) birdsong. Breakfast in the conservatory was a pleasant and very filling afair. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful I think I have encountered. Only criticisms, the room was too warm (heating wasn't on except in the bathroom) and door hinges needed oiling!

Looking a little dated with some old furnishings and decorations this is nevertheless a pleasant place to stay.

Best western building site

Location: Kenwick hotel louth
It was like a building site, with tape and dust sheets everywhere, the price of the hotel was not reduced I still paid full price, and I was not informed of this works when I booked!!

Great for business or leisure - great food and gym / swim / spa

Posted Dec 8, 2011
Location: Rural area, Louth town centre is a step back in time to when High Streets were vibrant hubs of the community.
I stayed for 2 nights in the Kenwick on 7th and 8th December. Having not been to the area before it was recommended by colleagues as the best hotel locally. It is on the out skirts of beautiful Louth town centre. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean well equipped with Ipod doc alarm clock and flat screen TV. I used the full length swimming pool and steam room / sauna both mornings - the leisure centre functions as a local gym / health club so is far better than you would expect at a hotel. One evening I joined in a spinning class in the gym which was also included in the price of the hotel. Food (well needed) after spinning was hearty tasty and well cooked. The pagoda outside indicates this is also a wedding venue. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - get it booked!
