Pros: close to Funtasia, nice quite area and breakfast was excellent
Cons: TV in room was tiny!
Myself and my two children stayed for 2 nights, and we very much enjoyed it. The hotel was close to Funtasia Water park and the hotel tennis court and pool added to our trip.

Overnight stay

Posted Jan 19, 2015 on Hotels.com
During the coldest spell so far this winter. The room we occupied was cosy, clean and warm. It's a bit dated looking décor wise but the staff are friendly and helpful too especially Damian on Reception. Enjoyed my stay. Dinner was good and the food was delicious and well presented too.

Posted Jan 8, 2015 on Hotels.com
After a bit of a mix up that had nothing to do with the boyne valley hotel but an oversite on the part of hotel.com the staff at the hotel couldnt do enough for my husband and i, espically Monika and Haley on reception noel the manager justyna and all the staff cant remember all their names they know who they are, we had a magical time we couldnt reccomend it enough we have stayed in many hotels including five star castles the hotel is on a parr with them if not better, the hotel is a beautiful old house with beautiful grounds very laid back and relaxing, also lovely beaches and great shops near by it was sooo lovely we stayed eight days instead of the three days that we originaly booked, from 26-12-14 to 2-1-14 we will certanilly be back and couldnt reccomend it enough for a lovely treet, we cant thank everyone enough for making our stay soo special wishing you all a healthy happy lucky new year, warmest wishes Michelle and Pat Mc Cormack

1 night stay away

Posted Dec 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed a 1 night break but had difficulty in getting hot water - had to run tap for approx. 10 minutes (reported this at the time). Older TV with limited channels (approx. 7 from memory) and room was in older part of hotel. That said - staff very friendly and helpful as I arrived early and was given a room without any issue. Room nice and warm with heating on all of the time. Breakfast excellent and parking very convenient. Unfortunately did not avail of excellent gym / swimming pool.

Hotel under renovation

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Location, grounds, pool and fitness club are available.
Cons: The next phase of renovation, the interior and guest rooms, is overdue.
Location: Close to the historic Boyne Valley (Newgrange, Battle of the Boyne, etc), the port town of Drogheda (bars and restaurants, some shopping) and golf.
The hotel has been acquired by a new owner after several years of receivership. Renovations are underway, starting with sandblasting the exterior. Parts of the outside therefore look a little rough. The lobby has been painted, but the rooms are untouched. They need to be freshened very soon. Landscaping is also underway and it looks quite good. Staff friendly and the restaurant is satisfactory, but not high end.

Run down

Posted Oct 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very run down. Outside could do with a touch of paint and windows cleaned. Rooms basic but very old fashioned and bathroom tiles/tap etc very dirty. We went to pool/sauna etc. Sauna out of order. Breakfast was nice but hotel needs a bit of a clean up. The grounds are lovely but the hotel really needs maintenance.
