overnight close to Powell, WY

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: the bed was adequate
Cons: it is more suited to the stay of a worker in town for a period of time for a work opportunity, the space seems awkward for a vacationing traveler.
Location: Main Street Lovell was under construction and closed. I had no opportunity to visit. Powell to the west of Lovell has far more to offer.
The Western Motel in Lovell, WY is basically clean, the bed adequate, but the room is more suited to the needs of a worker in the area for a period of time, there to do construction or other labor. It offers only the most basic amenities - microwave, refrigerator, TV, (no coffee maker). Main Street was closed and under repair, so I had no opportunity to visit the town. Powell, WY, to the west offers far more possibilities.

Our trip to Yellowstone

Posted Jul 15, 2014
The hotel was old and run down from the outside, the staff was not accommodating, and we canceled our reservation when we got there. This motel is over 100 miles away from Yellowstone park.

We showed up, at midnight, and the manager was more than willing to accommodate us, even when we woke her at the ungodly hour!

Nice Hotel... inexpensive price

Posted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: i liked everything about it. The price is what drew me.
Cons: I didn't have a bad experience!
Location: Convenient place because several different restaurants (fast foods) were right next door and so were gas stations.
Came into the hotel late and the young lady was very pleasant, quick and efficient. The hotel room was clean, cooled down and nice overall. I was very pleased with them.

EXPEDIA should remove this motel from its listings

Posted Aug 29, 2012
This is NOT a motel for tourists. we arrived in Lovell after dark and the town does not even have street lights. I was very surprised because it is 5miles from the Bighorn Canyon National park, so we expected a town for tourists. But the other guests of the motel were obviously seasonal workers in the nearby cement factory and the only restaurant open in town was the one owned by the motel people, where we had no choice but eating a stale burger with over greasy fries. Ten minutes after our arrival we decided to not sleep there, even if we had to pay again for both the rooms, which were furnished like mini apartments (even a microwave!). we had to solicit for our burgers (the manager left the fries in the pan and went back watching TV).. we suggest everyone NOT to stay there and drive few more miles to Powell, or Cody.

Okay for the location

Posted Sep 9, 2010
The owner (only staff) was friendly. She made us dinner in the hotel cafe. It was tastey and fresh, but slow. There were six of us and two plates came out of the kitchen at a time. Two were done eating when the next two plates came out, etc. The facility is old, but the room and bathroom were clean. When I went to return the key at check-out noone was around and a TV was blaring in the office/cafe. I couldn't get the TV to mute, lower the volume, or turn off. I checked the back room and still didn't find her so another guest and I just left our keys for her after about 15 minutes.

Never again

Posted Jul 25, 2007
My room was clean but had a nasty odor (musty and old). The decor left alot to be desired, too. I'll never stay there again if I can help it.
