Idyllic location but slightly shoddy service??Posted Jul 2, 2011
This hotel was perfect for an affordable, short and convenient getaway. Just a few things about the whole trip left a slightly sour taste in my mouth - it wouldn't take much to improve them. Firstly, our room has been treated with ammonia (some sort of deep-cleaning treatment??) - despite leaving our window open throughout the stay - we could not get away from the smell! With a little forward-thinking, the hotelliers might have aerated the room for us for few days beforehand. Secondly, the breakfast - I would favour improving the quality and reducing the quantity - various baskets of croissants, cake, biscuits, yoghurt. Although there was a wide variety - only half of the choices were remotely appetising. Thirdly, the lighting of the place - the interior was quite grand but the lighting gave the place a sinister feel - reminiscent of "The Shining"!! Nevertheless, the chambermaid service was impeccable - our rooms were cleaned to the highest standard I have ever seen. The receptionists were always very helpful and friendly. As just a safe haven for the night, I would have no qualms about going back there :) many thanks!

Budget HotelPosted Jun 11, 2009 on Hotels.com
Upon arrival, the hotel is easy to find although not very easy on the eye. We were given a very small room at the back of the hotel facing the fire escape. The room had a very small tv with no English channels and the tiniest shower I have ever seen. During our three nights, we did not get our toiletries renwed at all. There was a button for air conditioning but this was switched off so we were not able to use this. The breakfast is a very small selection of a croissant, bread roll, jam, butter and yoghurts. There was no hot food available. On the second day, we were woken up at 8am by the cleaners coming into our room then again 15 minutes later. There was no "do not disturb" sign to hang out. We did tell the receptionist this and she said she would speak to them. We had lots of walking and were really looking forward to the spa when we got back. When we asked at reception, we were told it was only open on Sundays. The service from the front desk and the waitress at breakfast was very good. The hotel receiptionist recommended two very good restaurants in the area which we dined at. Given the short distance to the centre and the very low cost of this hotel, I have given this hotel 3 stars out of 5 as I do believe it was value for money, although I think they need to actually provide the services they advertise to score higher.

Fantastic hotelPosted Mar 29, 2009 on Hotels.com
I thought with the cost of this hotel, that it might not be that nice, i was very mistaken. We arrived at night so we had no idea it was so close to the lake. The lady on reception spoke very good english and was really friendly and helpful. The room was so clean, absolutely spotless like it had been refurbished recently. In the morning, we opended the curtains and the view was breathtaking, we had a very large balcony, infact i would call it a terrace, with a table and chairs, it did also overlook the car park but that didnt take away from the stunning lake and mountain view. Breakfast was brilliant, there was loads of choice and it was all delicious, everywhere was extremely clean. I will definitly return to this hotel, the ocation from bergamo airport is good too, we did have a sat nav but it was literally one road from the airport and only took 25 mins. Great hotel.

second visit to this hotelPosted Sep 9, 2008 on Hotels.com
This is our second stay at this hotel. On both occasions we had rooms with balconies over looking the lake. The outside is starting to look tired, but we couldn't fault anything once inside. King size comfy beds, good size bathroom and lots of wardrobe space. Would recomend this hotel, however it is on a slight slope and my elderly mother would have strugled making her way into town without her whealchair.
