Shower is a bit small. Other than that, it was a great getaway. Would definitely go back

Very Nice place! Recommended!!!

Pros: Excellent hotel, awesome breakfast buffet, great facilities in terms of pools, rooms and restuarants
Cons: At times we had to request things from the operator more than once. But they did bring them and it wasn't always slow.
Location: Fantastic property but it seems to be on the atlantic side therefore the beach is not nice. The view is amazing and the hotel's pool makes up for it.
I had a great experience at this hotel. Would definitely go again. Very close to the town where all the activities go on. The hotel is self is great and provides everything that you can stay in and enjoy. Rooms were spacious and nice. Even though we checked out in the afternoon and our flight was hours after check out they still allowed us a complimentary room to bathe and get ready before leaving, not before enjoying a final dip in the pool with some poolside cocktails. Love this place.

Friendly laid back atmosphere

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Location and friendly atmosphere
Cons: Cleanliness of grounds could be improved - particularly the beach. Although it is a public beach the hotel could make an effort to keep it litter free
Location: Easy access from airport. Close to Pigeon Point with free shuttle bus provided. Hire a car and tour the picturesque island by yourself.
Our second trip to the Magdalena. Comfortable hotel with friendly staff and an easy going style. Location is great with access to (breezy) beach, golf course and spa facilities. Close to the airport but not at all noisy. Good choice of tasty food even if the breakfast fare tends to overdo the salt a bit

Great time in Tobago

Posted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: I really enjoyed everything I experienced at the hotel. The staff were professional, pleasant and the customer service was excellent.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: The location is right on the Atlantic Ocean. There is a pretty rugged beach for walking and a shuttle is offered to Pigeon Point. Bikes to borrow.
My experience was great from the time I entered the resort until the time I left. I was there for a two day stay. Check in was fast and pleasant. The bellman, Wendell, greeted me in the lobby, brought me a welcome drink, showed me around the grounds during our golf cart trip to my room. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and was good as well as filling. All the other restaurants I ate at were good with pleasant servers. I also highly recommend the spa. I enjoyed a couple spa treatments before I left that made me feel like a new person. The spa staff were very helpful, pleasant and professional. If you want to learn about TT culture, things to do just ask...I learned about Soca and Calypso music from Floyd & Sonya, best parade ideas for Carnival from several staff. The cab driver on the way back to the airport explained some of the costume traditions to me. Lovely people, lovely place!

Pros: Very beautify, from every angle. Blends well with the seascape.
Cons: When I checked in, one card key could not work. Then, I discovered that there is no hot water to the room. It was soon rectified.
Loved the facilities. I like the layout of the hotel. The buffet dinner and lunch was very good.

Hotel' s nice. Tobago is nicer.

Posted Jan 24, 2015
At check-in I was given a standard room as if that was what was booked&confirmed ‎.   I questioned re: my deluxe booking (as based on the airline I took-British Airways' website a standard room is much cheaper).  ‎Thereafter the king-sized bed request was never acceded to for none of the four nights I spent there. Staff tries otherwise, some more than others and some bias to certain guest is obvious.

Nice hotel close to beach with amazing views

Posted Dec 26, 2014
Pros: Access time to pools
Cons: Bedding
Location: MovieTowne is just 5 mins away
Really enjoyed the stay here even for just a day. Friendly staff, beautiful view, love their breakfast buffet. Access to beach from room balcony. Amazing pool bar, but was closed when we went for a dip because it was raining. Beach was rough that day, not sure if it is safe to swim.

Great place to stay as long as you have a car!

Posted Dec 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was a short break with friends who were visiting Trinidad. The Magdelena was perfect for this purpose. The main downside with this hotel is its location on the windward side of the island. The location is beautiful but windswept and the sea is not conducive to beach time or swimming. The rooms have been recently refurbished to a high standard and the hotel is nicely designed. Each room has a view of the sea. I was not able to access the internet very easily using the wireless but the network cable gave a good connection speed. We ate dinner (buffet style) and breakfast in the restaurant. Dinner was pretty good and breakfast was very good. It is advisable to have a rental car when staying at Magdelena so that you can take day trips to other parts of Tobago to enjoy the calmer beaches.

Scenic setting lacking appropriate service

Posted Dec 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
Was impressed with setting and scenery. However, lack of service was overwhelming . Had a reservation to their ' upscale' restaurant and was 8 mins earlier and was asked to come back (the restaurant was less than half full). The hostess was a bit arrogant. The waiter was better. The television was not working . We did call the front desk . No one came. The breakfast was very tasty ,however, again not properly organized. Will not stay there again.
