Small hotel incredibly close to Pisa airportPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Location and staff.
Nice hotel with kitchen and garden facilities. The owner is very accommodating, accepting guests at all times (as it is close to the airport). However there is no reception and the hotel is not staffed so you need to be exact with arrival times. Rooms are small but adequate and maybe quite hot in the summer - we visited in October.

Within Lucca WallsPosted Oct 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
This place was very convenient location within the walls of Lucca. The room was large and being able to use the kitchen was great. You do share 3 bathrooms with about 6 rooms and there never seemed to be a wait when we needed one. One of the bathrooms did have a broken shower head, so water just came out of a tube. Also, this is not a regular B&B. Overall, the facility was clean and an easy walk to everything in the city including the weekend market, great food, and shopping. Across the street is a bike rental shop called Tuscany Ride a Bike, Paolo was very helpful and reasonable price. We were not in our rooms that much but when we were it was comfortable and there was WIFI. The hotel felt very safe to leave your belongings and they were nice enough to let us stay in the kitchen the day of our check out since it was pouring rain and we had a later flight. We enjoyed our stay at Da Elisa and would recommend it to anyone who is willing to share a bathroom with others.

Perfect LocationPosted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great stay here even though it was very short. Small interaction with reception was nice and in English which was helpful. Easy walk from the train station with luggage and easy walk to everything in Lucca. Bed was the most comfortable but it was clean and spacious.

Wish I'd stayed for longer...Posted May 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
I wish I had booked to stay longer, because Lucca is such a beautiful town and this hotel was in a perfect location. It was a room in a fairly old building, therefore not luxurious, but totally fit for purpose - a comfortable bed in a safe room. I was slightly apprehensive about the 'shared bathroom', but was totally satisfied with the condition of the bathrooms - again quite old, but spotless, and fabulous walk-in showers. I walked everywhere during my stay and the hotel was convenient to pop back to at any time of day or night. I arrived by bus, which stopped at one end of the town and the hotel was at the other end, but I just strolled, with my suitcase, soaking in the atmosphere - it took me about 15-20 minutes.

Nice location but no air-con.Posted Jul 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
Not really a hotel. We had a shared bathroom, but you can live with that for one night. Lack of air-con was the biggest disadvantage, it was very hot and the floor fan wasn't enough. Avoid room number 2 (window to the noisy street, not easy to sleep). Comfortable beds. Free wi-fi. No on-site parking, you need to leave the car on the public one (about 1,5€ per hour, but free at night). Great location if you want to have a great time in Lucca.

Better than staying in noisy, busy "town" of Lucca.Posted May 28, 2012
Pros: Private bath. Newly renovated.
Location: Very close to main gate.
Excellent place to stay and a 2 minute walk to wall of Lucca. 15 minute walk to center of town. Very friendly host. Quiet at night and food near by.

Interesting old townhouse, friendly staff + guestsPosted May 27, 2011 on Hotels.com
Good value for money and in an interesting part of the beautiful town of Lucca. Having a kitchen/dining room was most appreciated. Spend the first day walking the walls to get the feel of the place, take a train up the Serchio valley to Castelnouvo and a day at the seaside of Viareggio. Great pizzas at the Droughia on the left on same street and the kebab shop on the right served delicious food.

Different...much like a hostelPosted Apr 19, 2011 on Hotels.com
Very different than a hotel. Bathrooms and kitchen are community but over all OK experience. Not far from Pisa.

Basic Budget- would return to locale with kitchen and fridgePosted Jun 21, 2009
Nice place very basic, had a shared bath -cheaper than private. Happy to have use of kitchen and fridge-although could use defrosting. Can be noisy on the street side (motorcycles are the culprits)- but you should be out and about not in your room. Sometimes difficult tracking staff and no phone for one to use except public ph across the street at their main building Via Elisa 25. Alternate location a 10 minute walk. Nice enough w/private bath but rear room can hear a/c vent system at night. Like whitenoise.
