Amazing hotel

Viareggio however, is a bit bland! Rooftop pool lovely (although expect to lounge around in it rather than swim... It's only a foot for so deep!) Beautiful and grand hotel.

The concierge was horrible.

Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: location, and staff
Cons: the concierge...he was not helpful...
Location: fabulous
we loved the hotel....the beds and bedding need improvement...not a luxury hotel that has beds like that...very dated interiors and the carpet on the third floor was severely stained as you get out of the elevator..

Good hotel in a slightly tired resort

Posted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Good breakfast and lovely pool area with great views of the mountains and coast. Some problems with the bathroom in my 1st room required a maintenance visit or two and eventually a change of room - staff were always charming but it took 3 calls on each occasion to get anyone to come and fix the problem in the bathroom or help us move room.

Worse nights sleep

Posted Jul 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
We have stated at this Hotel before and thoroughly enjoyed it however this time was a different story. My wife and I booked the hotel go enjoy a relaxing evening at the Piccolo Proncipe restaurant. After the meal we then returned to the room and there was the music from a disco blaring into the room. As my wife was feeling under the weather we decided to stay where we were. It should be noted though that we did not contact the hotel about this so no blame can be put on them for this unfortunate nights sleep.

Nice hotel not so good service

Posted Jun 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very nice. The breakfast was perfect. And the roof top pool was great. As was the restaurant on the roof. However, the service was a big dissapointment... One of the restaurants was shut for two nights because of a wedding. The noise continued through the night.

Lovely hotel

Really nice hotel, good breakfast. Hadn't realised the exact location, just about the furthest Viareggio hotel from the staion (train & bus). 10-12 Euros to stations in taxi. Not sure was good value for money. Bit disappointed on our last day they closed the pool area early due to a private function. Not sure was good value for money. I'd look closley at other hotels if visting again.

Overall very good, but...

Posted Oct 4, 2012
Pros: Relaxing atmosphere
Cons: Lack of staff at the pool area
Location: Lovely
The hotel was lovely, the staff cheerful and helpful, however there was no information in the room to give help regarding using the phone, the hours that the spa was open, how to use the air conditioning etc. We went at the end of the season, however several times during our stay we used the lovely roof top pool, as well as several other people, and the bar was only very occasionally manned, meaning there were no towels available, or drinks on offer.

Luxurious & friendly

Lovely Hotel, friendly staff, Amazing breakfast spread but be careful not to eat or drink anything from the mini bar unless you are happy paying £8 for a Coke or £9 for a bag of Tyrells crisps!! :)

Be Alert

Pros: the FREE evening Canapes
Location: TERRIFIC
Well, this is obviously a 1st class Hotel, BUT, maybe i,m out of step but be prepared to pay for absolutely everything. A humble cup of Tea in your room, forget it ,it requires room service & is look warm when you get it .(take your own kettle & tea bags.Use an Iron "in my room" forget it you have to pay to have it ironed. Swim & relax in the Principe Pool over the road, forget it unless you want to pay30 euros a day & so on. The good news is they don,t charge you to go out the revolving doors.
