a well-run pensionPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Its position, pricing and convenience
Cons: The landlady, Anna, is friendly and helpful. Just let her know in good time if you plan to arrive later in the day.
Location: The pension is right near Teatro del Giuglio, and a few minutes walk from the centre, train station and buses
The rooms are clean, and the pension has a number of personal touches, helping guests to feel relaxed and at home

Great....except for the street noise!Posted Sep 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Anna was wonderful, helpful and her breakfasts were good. But, unfortunately, the city of Lucca has made a pedestrian mall a half block from Le Violette. Maybe it'll be better after school starts, but when we were there in earlySeptember, the street noise was horrendous -- and it went on until about 2 a.m. every night! And then people would start walking under our windows about 7 a.m. in the morning....even a street sweeping machine!

Comfortable and friendly B & BPosted May 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
The lady who runs Le Violette is very helpful and clearly takes great pride in her business. The B & B occupies the first floor of a grand old building within the walls of the old town, easily accessed from the station. The rooms are large with high ceilings. Breakfast is good by Italian standards with the added attraction of home made pancakes with honey. Overall a nice place to stay and good value for money

Simple AccomodationsPosted May 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The rooms were very simple and like most beds we had on this trip to Italy, the mattresses tend to be very firm, that said; the room was comfortable and the location was very good. Inside the wall, with an entrance to the pedestrian walk on top of the wall just a few mintues away. Parking is available for free outside the wall and a good 20 minute walk from the hotel. We were able to drop off our luggage but you need to make sure you don't cross into any restricted zones if you are driving and haven't obtained a permit - taking the GPS most direct route, we were fine. The rooms were clean and the staff/hosts were most helpful and accomodating. The price seemed a bit high for the quality of accomodations.

In the walled city and close to everythingPosted Feb 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Anna's place "Le Violetta" is great little place to stay, this was our second time. It is walking distance from the station, about 5 -10 mins, The wall is around the corner, it is a beautiful walk a great way to see Lucca and get your bearings. The main square is within 5 mins and so are some great little food places. Service was warm and friendly, room was clean and comfy. No problem with us staying there again and have already recommended "Le Violetta" to friends that are thinking of going to Tuscany, we tell everyone stay in Lucca and take day trips to Pisa and Florence.

5 Minute walk from Train StationPosted Sep 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great location, only a 5 minute walk from the train station. It's through the St. Peter's entrance into the walled city of Lucca and two small blocks from there. It is a B&B and therefore you are in an apartment in a wonderful old, high ceiling-ed building. It's like living in Lucca, not just being a tourist. There is no sign on the building to give you the impression it's a hotel or B&B so look for th Number 6 when you get to the street and then ring the door bell for the hotel and they'll buzz you up. Don't worry if they don't answer right away, you are in the right place just wait. Anna is lovely, she's the owner and she makes you very comfortable and Lucca is an beautiful place to visit.
Excellent accommodations in Lucca!Posted Jul 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
Although it is a small place and considered a bed and breakfast, I would classify the accommodations as more of a hotel/motel. It is like a B&B in that it only has a few rooms, is run by a family, breakfast is served in your room, and there is no "desk staff" - limited hours for check-in/out. But when I think B&B I think more of a house set-up, this was an apartment building. The room was very clean and everything worked properly, great air conditioning! Typical small bathroom, but all worked great. Very courteous. Location was nice and quiet, but easy to get around. Good value.

Perfect Stopover in LuccaPosted Apr 20, 2012 on Hotels.com
My husband and I arrived at Le Violette without having had anything to eat because of our travel arrangements. It was late morning, but Anna, the proprietor let us in and before finishing our room, she prepared coffee and some breakfast for us. The location of the hotel could not be better: close to the train station and within the wall of the city. On our last day, because we didn't need to leave until 2 in the afternoon, she let us keep the room until then with no extra charge. There is excellent wifi reception for a minimal fee. Le Violette was perfect for our needs and Anna could not have been more helpful.

Lucca tripPosted Aug 8, 2011
This older building was fun to enter, but the lack of air conditioning forced us to keep the windows open resulting in bug bites and noisy conditions. Breakfast is pre-packaged. However, Anna is great, she went the extra mile for us! And Lucca is wonderful with the location a plus.
