What a Find!Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: A well run and maintained home cared for with love by Marta, with the help of her son Georgio. Great service and location.
Location: Great location for taking day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Garfagnana, Cinque Terre etc. Good restaurants for dinner near by the house.
Situated in Santa Maria del Giudice, just 8km from Lucca center. Beautifully renovated to its original state and decorated with Marta's personal touch allows you to feel like you are staying in her home. The breakfasts are wonderful; omelets, cured hams and salamis, cheeses, tomatoes with mozzarella, fresh fruit, juices, pastries, yogurt, breads etc.served outside on the patio/garden. Georgio, Marta's son, has a wine selection in the living room to enjoy as well. We loved the casual atmosphere and were sad to leave this great find, run by such lovely people. We felt very much at home and both Marta and Georgio went out of their way to help us with day trips and recommendations. Would go back in a minute!

Nice Guest housePosted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Away from the centre
Cons: DO NOT USE THE ADDRESS GIVEN ON EXPEDIA ON YOUR SAT NAV IT IS NOT REGONISED, USE XXIV MAGGIO (24 MAY) AS STREET ADDRESS OR CALL MARTA FOR DIRECTIONS
Location: Drive to BARGA in the north, well worth a visit
10-15 minutes drive from Lucca which is good if you need to getaway from the crowds.

Marta Guest HousePosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Location to Pisa airport
Cons: The photos were slightly misleading as it looked like the villa was on its own on a hillside but infact was surrounded by a modern housing estate.
Marta was a wonderful hostess and went out of her way to help us. She even drove us down to the restaurant she had recommended for us and we were able to walk back. Her breakfast was the best we had in Tuscany and all the information she gave us was excellent and very helpful.

Great stay with Marta!Posted Aug 5, 2013
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed 5 nights at the Marta Guest House. We were well looked after. The breakfasts were excellent as was advice about visits to Lucca, Pisa and Florence.

More than just a guest house!Posted Sep 25, 2012
Marta's Guest house is the ultimate B&B in a great location well away from the tourist hordes of Tuscany and in a rugged yet beautiful location in the Lucchese hills. Everything is tip top about this place from the rooms to the excellent service. Marta is the ultimate landlady and her staff are equally approachable, helpful and friendly. I cannot overstate how welcome I was made to feel - part of the family is an over used cliche but here it has never been more true. It was a joy to be greeted every morning by Marta & her team always full of smiles and great travel advice. You really can't beat a local's knowledge of their home turf! The breakfasts were full and varied and delicious. You couldn't ask for a more homely place to stay! I will definitely return!

Personal touchPosted Oct 24, 2011
Marta and Roberto have renovated a lovely palazzo in the lovely Tuscany countryside half way between Lucca and Pisa. Hard to find it, but once we did, we were welcomed and given every assistance. Marta provided a wonderful lunch with wine on our terrace, then gave us great advice about visiting Lucca, including where to park and where to eat and rent bikes. Both were very helpful with advice for the rest of the trip in Chianti. Breakfast was terrific. A fabulous find, I highly recommend Marta's Guest House.
