Nice innkeeper, terrible innPosted Jun 7, 2015
Location: Shenandoah Valley is beautiful -nice drives on the Skyline Drive and other roads. Laurie Caverns interesting, car museum, other attractions on site.
Although we spoke to the innkeeper about our arrival time and, in fact, arrived a bit later than that, she was still "cleaning" our room when we arrived, so we had to wait in the small dining room (there is no common sitting area). The room looked more like it had been "swept with a glance" than with anything stronger. Hand marks on the doors, bathtub not clean, generally felt it was not well tended to. This was confirmed when the bed collapsed as my husband sat on it on our second night there. Innkeeper told us the guest of the previous weekend had caused some issues and the owner (who does not live near the town) had tried to fix the bed with a wood plank. Obviously not a careful job. Also, you cannot lock the room from the inside as there is a jerry-rigged lock system. Innkeeper warned us there was no skeleton key, so if we lost our key, we were out of luck. (fortunately, that didn't happen. Breakfast was OK. The innkeeper is very nice and helpful with info. Would not recommend unless you are separate for a room in the area. I would have asked for refund of one night because of the bed if my husband had not brushed off the innkeeper's apology.

if you don't want a chainPosted Oct 19, 2013 on Hotels
Inn keeper was very helpful, and this was way more fun than your run of the mill chain bedroom. I felt I could ask for help with anything.

Disappointed near Skyline DrivePosted Oct 18, 2012
Pros: The two person Jacuzzi
Cons: Room cleanliness, smoke smell although it was a non-smoking B&B, lack of adequate linens and suboptimal breakfasts.
Location: Easy to find. The twon of Stanley has a pizza shop and a Tastee Freeze. No true food found for several miles (Luray)
We anticipated a king bed, as advertised, and found a queen bed in our room. The room had not been cleaned properly prior to our arrival not did it receive any attention during our stay. Pillow cases were not available, the floors were sticky. Linens were sparse and there were no tissues in the BR. The two person jacuzzi was very nice. Breakfast was adequate but not anything special. Condiments were served in plastic cups. Cereal over yogurt was described as "granola," We have been pampared in other lovely B&Bs and did not share the same feeling here. This was an anniversary trip so the disappointment was felt even more.

Stay away from this place~Posted Apr 27, 2012 on Hotels
We booked a night at this place when we were visiting Shenandoah park and Lurray caverns. When we got there, we were greeted by the innkeeper Misty who said all the right things to make us comfortable. However, the place is very unkempt. The room footrest was damp and had stains. The bed sheet was covered in hair. There was hair in the bathtub and the bathmat had stains. The innkeeper lives there with her children and the entire place (kitchen, etc) didn't seem very clean. She did change the sheets for us eventually and am sure she is doing her best with the kids. That said, she did make us a nice and light breakfast. However, we were very disappointed in the place.
