Great view of the sunset for many rooms.Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: 1. Nice view of sunset and valley of Luray; 2. Clean; 3. Close to many trails; 4. Nice food in the restaurant.
Cons: Without internet connection
We spent four nights in the hotel, visited nearby city Luray and the Luray Caverns, hiked three different trails. The night in the mountain is about 45 to 55 F in mid August.

Room size is ok for double beds, bathroom is too small, furniture looks old , room seems clean, but I found a bug under the bedspread . We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant , breakfast was ok, dinner was terrible!

Quaint and peaceful lodging in the Shenandoh StatePosted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Very nice bathroom, lots of room, and great TV. The balcony was the perfect spot for relaxing with a bottle of wine after a long drive.
Cons: More diverse menu.
Location: Perfect for anyone who is enjoying time in the park.
We stayed in one of the premium rooms with a baloney overlooking the valley. We loved the quiet atmosphere, and beautiful view. It was in perfect harmony with the entire Skyline Drive experience. Although the menu offered at the restaurants was limited, it was delicious, and the wait staff very friendly and quick service.

Very satisfied with all aspects of our stay. It is a very relaxing facility and ideal for nature lovers. Lots of deer, bears and other animals. Have vacationed at Skyland and Big Meadows for nearly fifty years.

Lovely location but over-pricedPosted Aug 4, 2014
Cons: Needs to offer better value for money. Restaurant over-priced for fairly basic meals
Situated in a lovely area with great views, but rooms and facilities fairly basic and overall the resort is over-priced.

Quaint lodge on Skyline DrivePosted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Convenience on Skyline Drive.
Cons: The hot & cold water in the shower were not easily adjusted to a comfortable temperature. Also, fee for booking online not disclosed until checkout.
Location: Breakfast at Big Meadow was a treat. After breakfast completed Dark Falls trail -a short forest service road is an easier climb out of the Falls area
Basic, clean, quaint lodge directly on Skyline Drive. Location. Location. Location! During our brief overnight stay, a black mother bear and cub, numerous deer, and a third black bear were spotted - all from the comfort of our car - very cool!

Beautiful scenery / close hiking trailsPosted Jul 15, 2014
The hotel check-in was very slow and disorganized. However, staff was helpful in checking for requested, specific room numbers. The resturant and lounge offer a good variety of foods at reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet is wonderful.
