nice room for the money

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Clean bathroom and facility.
Cons: Toilet needed to be flushed 2x at times.
Location: Close to inner harbor without the price!
We recently dropped our 16yo off at John's Hopkins for her 10 day stay. The room smelled a little but not bad (prob cleaning material) at first. Nice and clean were my remarks. We only stayed for 2 nights but we were comfortable with the air conditioning, microwave, and refrigerator. Locals said the hotel was just re-modeled. Local diner, Natulis on York Rd had a very quick and tasty breakfast though servers were "cold". Nice crab restaurant, Ocean Pride, on York rd too. Nice friendly people. Enjoyed our time in MD!

Loud location and poor design

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: You are permitted to have your dog stay in your room. That is why I chose it. Unlike other hotels, there is no charge for your pet.
Cons: Hotel needs to have cream and milk for coffee. The blankets are light duvets and they left me cold. They should have fans to block out noise.
Location: It's right on a highway. There was no nearby coffee shop nor a grocery store within walking distance.
The hotel interior looks pretty. But then, try to use it. The new bathroom sinks were installed poorly so the water runs all over the counter. The plastic tub slopes inward, and is very slippery, but no one put in little rubber things on its bottom. So I slid and fell while showering. Laminate wood floors in the bathrooms make them incredibly sloppy and slippery, too. The "neighbors" I had were young racist men who stood outside on the "deck" IE walkway talking in profane language as they got more and more drunk. I was permitted to change rooms, but I had unpacked everything. So I remained where I was. They offer coffee in the morning, but there was no milk nor cream. And when I requested a fan to block out the profane drunks and the highway noise (sirens, traffic, booming music) they had none on hand. The A/C unit is strong, but there is no sound from it for "white noise." I had little to no sleep at this hotel.

Nice location

Posted May 13, 2014
Pros: Very nice renovations.
Cons: Enforce the no smoking policy.
Location: Very conveniently located.
This Red Roof was recently renovated and they did a very nice job. So glad to see that many hotels are doing away with carpeting and installing laminate wood floors. Much more sanitary and pleasant to walk on. I had a lovely large king room with nice amenities. The only negative - the entire hotel smelled like cigarette smoke even though it states 100% smoke free. Everywhere I looked, people were smoking outside their rooms with their doors open. I had to buy candles and they were kept lit the entire time I was in the room to tolerate the smell. They must not be charging guests the "smoke fee" that you sign upon registering. If you don't mind smoke smell, the hotel was very nice.

Red Roof

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: Convenient to where I needed to go.
Cons: A mini fridge would be nice.
Location: Right near route 83, easy to get on and of. Getting to downtown is great.
Although I sits near a freeway, the Red Roof is quiet in your room. It is convenient to getting around north Baltimore. The rooms are clean, modern, ie; flat screen TV, modern sink, safe and nicely done furniture design, the beds are firm and comfortable

Ok for the price

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: They new decor inside the roooms came out well
Cons: The walls were very thin and we could hear people raising their voices next door.
Location: It was right off of I695. There isn't much to do near by, but the man at the front desk told us a good diner to go to for breakfast.
Well sorry to say but I choose this hotel because the other one that I wanted to stay at only had one queen bed left and I needed two. That hotel, which I had stayed at before had a free continental breakfast and a seasonal out door pool for just a few more dollars per night. `So, basically it was due to the new renovations ( inside the rooms) Which they did a nice job at. Outside could use a new face lift though and the walls are VERY thin. But for the price and proximity to my daughters college it was my second chose.

Convenient location, easy to find

Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: It was clean, quiet, new looking, easy parking, inexpensive.
Cons: I would have liked a hair dryer in the room.
Location: Since this was not a "pleasure trip" we have no recommendations, other than the Nautilus Diner just a few miles away - great for lunch and breakfast.
The area was unfamiliar to us, but we needed a location near the funeral home and church of a recently deceased family friend. The Red Roof Inn was easy to find and we were able to reach our locations with no problems; each was within a 10 minute drive. There are plenty of options nearby for food and shopping if necessary.
