No comparison in Luxembourg but v average for UKPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: The service was very friendly and attentive
Cons: The decor and room furnishings
Location: Don't know. In and out.
Room was very basic. Condition spartan. Bed and pillows cheap and uncomfortable. The staff were very good however.

Very Good. Almost.Posted Nov 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
In my view, this hotel almost delivers the experience in line with its price tag. However, I would have expected a working (and silent) air conditioning, a bathroom that felt less "80's" and a proper set of pillows. All small details but expected at this level. The spa and gym looked very nice - if anything, the later was definitely on the small side. Conclusion? will probably look at options next time - not for any of their failures, more for the missed opportunities.

Very good, expensive hotel.Posted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Spacious room in which everything worked.
Cons: Very high prices in bar.
Expensive ($350 per night) but you get what you pay for. Excellent room, location in an expensive part of town next to a beautiful park.

End of Trip StayPosted Oct 1, 2013
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was excellent.
Cons: I would suggest making an "a la cart" breakfast an easier, more available option for guests. The buffet was expensive for the amount of food consumed
Location: Excellent location for walking to museums and shopping and going to restaurants.
The Hotel Staff was informative and friendly, rooms were well laid out and maid service excellent. We loved the towels being replaced in the evening when appropriate and the high quality linens. As we arrived on a weekend we paid for the breakfast buffet when we really ate very little, but did not see that "a la cart" was an option. This was our only "negative".
Great location and great comfort!Posted Sep 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
I loved the service and the cleanliness and elevators! THe only thinkg I did not like was that I could not open the windows. We were a little warm and wanted to open the windows. I should have asked how to operate the thermostat but did not. My fault. Great place and would recommend to others!

Great hotel in a great location.Posted Sep 9, 2013
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Location is adjacent to the old city area on one side and a great park on the other. I would definitely stay there again when in Luxembourg.

Nice hotel close to city centerPosted Aug 17, 2013
Nice hotel, close to city center, with an adjacent public parking, connected to the hotel. Old air conditioning system, but very quiet and still efficient. Nice swimming pool, in a relaxing setting.

LuxuriousPosted Aug 5, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, quality of service, spa
Cons: Bedrooms too warm and air conditioning too weak to cope
Location: Fabulously located in central city.
Fabulous luxury hotel. My only criticism is that the air conditioning in the bedrooms is pretty weak, and that impacted on our sleep (as the city was in the grip of a heatwave, and we like a colder bedroom.)

This place is worth the 5 star rating.Posted Jul 26, 2013
Pros: Service, atmosphere, breakfast selection.
Cons: Rooms are a bit dated. The AC is not powerful enough to keep the room at comfortable temperature on a hot day.
Travelling through Benelux we quickly learned that not all 5 star hotels are created equal. The Le Royal in Luxemburg was a rare find actually worth the 5 star rating. The staff is polite, attentive and well-spoken, the rooms are comfortable albeit a bit dated, the restaurant on premises is well worth a visit. The majority of patrons are posh, driving a Mercedes, carrying Louis Vuitton bags and wearing designer brands. No sarcasm intended but here it will be easily noticed if one is missing any of these attributes so plan accordingly.

Great location and fantastic staffPosted May 17, 2013
Pros: Location in the centre of town and how great the staff were
Cons: Small pool/spa
Location: Right in the centre of the City
My husband and I visited mid May, I had previously stayed here on business but never used it for a leisure trip before. Unfortuantely only a smoking room was available but we couldn't tell when we went in, it was clean and fresh although the room was quite small. The swimming pool is very small and there isn't much space to change or leave your towel when it is busy, and by busy I mean more than 10 people using the facility. The staff are wonderful, incredibly attentive and helpful. It's a great hotel for couples or business travellers. It's proximity to the centre of town means it is also good for tourists but I think my children would find it a bit formal.
