Excellent hotel, wonderful experience.

Pros: Staff, terrace, food, room, situation.
Excellent hotel. We were three people travelling around the Nile river willing to discover the ancient Egypt, that's why we reached Luxor. We spent three wonderful nights at the Nefertiti hotel. It was very clean and comfortable, well located in a centric place near the Luxor temple, and the staff and the people running the hotel were very gentle, friendly and helpful in the kindest possible way. There's also the terrace, a lovely place to drink some juice, smoke shisha or have an excellent meal (we enjoyed so much that we had dinner there every day) or simply have a break after having spent the whole day at Karnak or at the east bank. The views from the terrace are magnificent: it is possible to see the Luxor temple with the sphinx avenues -also at night, with their lights on-, the Nile river with its splendid sunsets and the Hatshepsut temple at the other side of the river. Moreover, we were travelling on budget and we were able to find a very good price. I would stay again in this charming and lovely hotel and I’d be happy to meet the staff once again. If I happen to come again to Luxor, I hope I’ll have a room available there.

Very good value

Excellent location, very close to the Luxor Temple and the souk. Staff very friendly and helpful and all spoke English. Rooftop restaurant with great views and comfortable cushioned chairs and sofas, great place to watch the sun set. The hotel has a restaurant, food was decent. However, the free breakfast was minimal at best. Only other negative is the noise level in the rooms - lots of loud backgammon being played in the street cafes until late at night! Overall a very good value.

A jewel on the Nile....

Posted Apr 12, 2015 on Hotels
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Nefertiti. Excellent personal service from the staff and we loved the rooftop restaurant so much we invited friends over for dinner. And they are happy to book excursions, guides and onward transport at reasonable prices. This is a characterful hotel - not in the luxury bracket but well-run and with bags of charm. The views of sunset across Luxor Temple and the Nile beyond are wonderful.

This is definitely the place to stay in !

Posted Apr 12, 2015 on Hotels
An excellent choice for a stay in Luxor. The hotel is conveniently located close to shops, exchange office, beer store, attractions and restaurants. The staff is very attentive but in no way pushy like most places in Egypt. In fact, when checking in they offer their hotel as a "second home" and in many ways it feels as such. The roof top terrace offers beautiful view of the Nile and Luxor temple and is a true oasis from the hectic outside world. The rooms are quiet and clean with A/C and small fridge. I had a wonderful stay as I am sure many others and this hotel definitely gets my recommendation.

We had a great time staying at the Nefertiti Hotel! It is an amazing value, and the hotel staff were absolutely fantastic during our stay! We especially liked the restaurant inside the hotel. We can't recommend this place enough! Thank you for everything!!!

They didn't have the room we ordered

Posted Apr 7, 2015 on Hotels
When we arrived at the hotel, they didn't have any room ready for us, even though we had booked a room through hotels.com in advance. They offered us a different room which they could'nt rent out because it was only with cold water for the first night and said we could move to the room we ordered the next day. They offered us 15% discount on the first night (from the price of the room we ordered which it is was not for that night) and we found it unacceptable. I talked on the phone with the manager who complained for a long time and said I wanted to cheat him, because I wanted a bigger discount to make up for no hot water, wrong room and us moving from room to room without being able to get unpacked and take a shower. After 15 minuttes or so, I had to hang up the phone because he wouldn't let me get a word in and kept complaining about our unwillingness to cooperate. I asked for them to cancel the reservation since they had not met their part of it and we had to find a different hotel.

Fantastic Customer Service

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Pros: Location, food, great customer service, tours arranged, clean comfortable rooms
Cons: Lots of stairs to get to rooftop, not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.
Location: Ruins, Nile, riverboat tours, Valley of the Kings.
We had a great time staying at Nefertiti. All the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent English. They went above and beyond again and again. The location is great, ruins right out the front door. Breakfast was good, cooked omelettes to order, fresh fruit, cheese and bread. The rooftop patio is very nice, with a great view of the ruins and the Nile. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There is some noise form the street at night so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The hotel arranged a private tour for the three of us to the Valley of the Kings, with a driver and Egyptologist (Who was fantastic!) as well as a Felucca boat ride on the Nile at sunset. Everything was above our expectation and reasonably priced. We would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Luxor.

Hotel was Ok and was value for money. When we reached there the desired / booked room was not available and we had to compromise for a smaller room. The room was on the 4th floor with no elevators. Breakfast was Ok
