Excellent Luxor experiencePosted Jun 5, 2013
Beautiful gardens and lovely people. The staff are friendly, non-invasive, and very helpful with arranging taxis and other necessities. The entire experience is a welcome respite.

An historic monument as well as a wonderful hotelPosted Oct 10, 2012
Location: Unbeatable - overlooks the Nile, with the tombs and temples of the West Bank clearly visible.
We stay at the hotel's Garden Pavilion regularly, but on this occasion were delighted to be upgraded to the historic main building in a Nile-view room (but would have been equally delighted with a view over what must be one of the most attractive hotel gardens in the world - the hotel itself is great, but the gardens always tip the balance in its favour). We have always found the staff charming and helpful, who greet us as old friends when ever we return. The main building still oozes charm and is clearly haunted by the ghosts of the many distinguished people who have stayed there in the past - the foyer is the place where Howard Carter, discoverer of Tutankhamun, spent much time in his latter years. It is difficult to praise the Winter Palace too highly.

The Winter Palace Pavilion, LuxorPosted Jan 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
We stayed in the more Pavilon for 6 days over Christmas and could hardly be more satisfied. The historic hotel and gardens were a delight, the staff very helpful and our room very good. The bathroom may be due for a refit for a hotel of this type but the were not problems. The range and quality of the food in the hotel was such that we rarely felt the need to eat out which is unusual for us. They seemed to cater for everyone - couples, families with children, extended families and the disabled which is unusal in this part of the world. The hoilday which was a sightseeing one was made by the setting of the hotel and the staff! They could not be more helpful without being too 'in your face' and the General Mamager seemed to manage to speak to very guest at some stage in every day of our stay! Well done Winter Palace!

Winter Palace - LuxorPosted Dec 30, 2011
Pros: The size of the pool was a surprise - very large and kept at a lovely warm temperature.
Fabulous stay at a wonderful hotel. The hotel is in a great location for getting across to the West bank and is right next to Luxor temple. Wonderful old fashioned bar was perfect for a Howard Carter coffee at the end of an evening. Highly recommend.

Winter Pavillon LuxorPosted Dec 28, 2011
Pros: Very friendly and polite staff, location, room
Cons: Long walk every time you entered or left the hotel
Location: Close to Luxor and Karnak Temples
We stayed in the Winter Pavillion part of the Winter Palace Hotel. The room was a good size with comfortable beds and a nice balcony with a view of the garden. When we got to our room, we were greeted with a large assortment of chocolate treats. Breakfast was buffet-style and included with the room. The staff members were very friendly and polite, the food good, and the location was good. We had room service one night and that too was good. We were there for Christmas, and one of the staff came by with small stockings containing a tangerine and an assortment of cookies and chocolate. Everywhere was very decorated for the Christmas holiday. It's a long walk from the Winter Pavillion to the main hotel, but there is no other way to exit the property. The gardens and pool areas were lovely and well kept. My one complaint was the surcharge to use wireless Internet, but that was lessened by the free wireless around the pool and in the main hotel lobby.

I was very impressed about the Hotel. I would return anytime.Posted Nov 28, 2011
The Pavillion is an Annex of the Winter Palace Hotel. It shares all the conveniences, the Pool, the outside Restaurant, the beautiful Garden and the Guests can use the Main Restaurant for Dinner in the Winter. There is an exterior Restaurant close to the pool for Suimmer use. The Service is very defined and you live very comfortable there. I have stayed several times in the past.

Pavillon Winter Luxor - Best Hotel in LuxorPosted Nov 6, 2011 on Hotels.com
We were completely satisfied with our recent stay at the Pavillon Winter hotel. The staff at the front desk at the Pavillon were the best we experienced in Egypt! They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and our needs were met. The rooms are very clean and updated. the grounds are meticulously maintained and the pool is great.
