Excellent EstablishmentPosted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Run by lovely people and the house is spotlessly clean!
Location: Not many places to eat very nearby, although there is a small pub and a restaurant within walking distance. We couldnt get food due to a private party
Lovely hosts, lovely food, lovely rooms. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the side of the house where the brook runs, as after rain this runs very fast and is quite noisy, but a beautiful feature nonetheless. The good quality (memory foam?) mattress was a little too firm for me, but I am sure most people would find it ok and it was vastly superior to many we have had to 'put up with' at other places in the past! We had a family room, booked as a double, so we had plenty of space and the shower room was a really good size.

Very pleasant and comfortable B&BPosted Oct 5, 2014
My partner and I booked this B&B at the last minute, so although there were only two of us we ended up in the family room. The size of the room was excellent, and although we don't have any children, if we had had some with us, the room woud have been sufficient to accommodate them. Decor and finishings were very nice, and there was the nice touch of some homemade cakes placed in the room for us to eat. The owners were lovely, and we definitely plan on staying there again in the future.

Home from Home. Even better than home in fact!Posted Jul 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Booked to break up my journey from Chester to Devon. Wished I had stayed longer. I stopped in the nearby Ross-on-Wye on my way and sat by the river in the sunshine. Checked in to Ferndale at 3pm - a lovely welcome and showed to my room which was beautiful. (number 5). I've never known towels so soft, nor smelt bedsheets so fresh. Home-made cake in a little tin on the bed was a lovely touch, as was a bottle of water alongside the kettle and teabags etc. I opted for poached egg on toast with a sausage for breakfast which was delicious and served in a lovely bright airy dining room. I will definitely return, whether for a weekend getaway or a stop off to break up a journey - it was near perfect. If I had to fault something, I'd personally prefer a more powerful shower, but I have very thick hair. I think for most, it's ample. Owners both friendly and helpful with great knowledge of the surrounding area. I was made to feel most welcome. Thank you for a fabulous stay and for allowing others to share your beautiful home.

Great welcomePosted Jul 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
A very warm welcome awaits you . The most comfy room and the best bed ever, I wanted to take it home . Spotless clean. If all B&B 's were this nice I would leave home! My girlfriend wants to go back and we've only been home 24 hrs.The B&B is close to lots of walks, places of interest and activities, so because Ferndale has a limited number of rooms you'd be well advised to book in advance to secure your wonderful relaxing holiday .

Lovely B&BPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Ferndale House was just lovely, a good all rounder, couldn't fault anything.
Cons: Perfect just the way it is.
Location: Lovely rural setting with beautiful views just great for taking long walks in the countryside.
What can I say, one of best B&Bs we have stayed at, and we have stayed at a few! Hosts lovely and very helpful, room beautiful, food great and the rural setting outstanding.

Pros: Free cake cleanliness comfortable bed well decorated the list goes on..!
Cons: Not sure... more cake?!
Location: Local pubs/food, if you have a car there's loads to do, outlined in the folder in bedrooms.
Can't think of anything that could have been done better. Cake on arrival (lovely!) Friendly staff, quiet location, local pubs/food, clean room, very comfortable bed. Loved the stay would recommend to anybody wanting a quiet pleasant stay at a friendly B&B in a quiet location.

Super SetupPosted Jul 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed in 'The Lodge' - a bedroom in a separate building in the grounds . It was very clean, welcoming room. A good surprise were the lovely fresh muffins we found. Breakfast was very nice, as were the owners. All in all, one of the best places we've stayed.

Just great!Posted Jun 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
What a lucky find for us, it was the nearest hotel we could book as we were attending a music festival in Ross. Cosy, comfy room with loads of thoughtful touches....my husband devoured the home-made muffins when we returned in the middle of the night. The owners were so welcoming, and the impromptu taxi service was unexpected but we were really grateful. We would highly recommend.
