Lovely B&BPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Ferndale House was just lovely, a good all rounder, couldn't fault anything.
Cons: Perfect just the way it is.
Location: Lovely rural setting with beautiful views just great for taking long walks in the countryside.
What can I say, one of best B&Bs we have stayed at, and we have stayed at a few! Hosts lovely and very helpful, room beautiful, food great and the rural setting outstanding.

Pros: Free cake cleanliness comfortable bed well decorated the list goes on..!
Cons: Not sure... more cake?!
Location: Local pubs/food, if you have a car there's loads to do, outlined in the folder in bedrooms.
Can't think of anything that could have been done better. Cake on arrival (lovely!) Friendly staff, quiet location, local pubs/food, clean room, very comfortable bed. Loved the stay would recommend to anybody wanting a quiet pleasant stay at a friendly B&B in a quiet location.

Spotless, well-equipped,B&B.Posted Jun 23, 2014
Location: Well sited for visiting Forest of Dean, and even for further day trips to Ross-on-Wye and the Cotswolds.
We booked the Lodge, a self-contained facility in the garden. It was spotlessly clean and well-equipped and we appreciated the privacy and independence. Lovely garden to sit out by the stream in fine weather. Excellent breakfasts in the main house. Husband & wife onsite owners were very friendly and obliging.

Lovely, friendly B&BPosted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness and price!
We really enjoyed our stay at Ferndale, our room was clean and had everything we could possibly need including homemade muffins which was a nice surprise. The location is beautiful and we would definitely recommend the B&B. lovely breakfast in the morning too!

Lovely extra thoughts put inPosted May 25, 2014
Andy and Christine were very welcoming and there was a lovely surprise of 2 yummy home baked muffins waiting for us on top of the well supplied tea and coffee tray, and we made ourselves a delicious hot chocolate after a long day of driving then wedding celebrations (although travel sized kettle sounded like it was preparing for take off - mildly alarming in modest sized room!) Next time I would check if the heating in the room was set to be on or off as the room did get quite hot overnight and we both got a bit hot and restless, not thinking about the radiator, and enjoying snuggling into the lovely smelling bed linen! Breakfast was tasty enough with choices for cereal or cooked breakfast.. If we had the luxury of more time we would not hesitate to stay at ferndale again to explore the area..

Friendly B&BPosted May 20, 2014
Pros: the helpful owners
Cons: nothing particularly
Location: ours was a overnight stay on a journey, so we didn't tour locally. I guess the position is good for seeing the area around.
we had to change our booking but there was no problem. Andy and Chris are a lovely couple who really try to make your stay a happy one - our stay certainly was good and we would recommend it to others. The room was large and well furnished.

V pleasant B&B, easy access to Forest of DeanPosted May 19, 2014
Pros: The proximity to many points of interest that we wanted to visit was v good & an excellent standard for a B&B.
Cons: We found everything to be of a good standard
Location: Located at Upper Lydbrook & surrounded by the Forest with all the bluebells out. Close to Symons Yat & many other places of interest
The owners, Andy & Catherine, were very friendly and provided plenty of extremely nice food both for breakfasts & evening meals if we wished. We would certainly look to stay there again when we visit the Forest of Dean next time.

An honest to goodness B&BPosted Apr 9, 2014
Location: The property is a great base for exploring the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean.
This is really good value accommodation. The owners are genuinely friendly and helpful. There is great attention to detail in the way that the rooms and facilities are presented. The breakfast is very good in terms of quality, quantity and range of options. Although the property and its location is not distinctive, the owners have done a thoughtful job of making the most of its garden (next to a stream).

Hosts could not have been more helpful. Stayed in the lodge and, although B & B, it had the added extra of a small kitchen for preparing evening meal. Felt very much at home.

Ferndale House was our last stop, of a two week tour of the UK. We received a very warm welcome from Christine and Andy, with many extras that made our stay all the more comfortable. Our room was spotlessly clean, had a very nice decor and the bed was most comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
