We always love our trips to the Peaks. It's not all that fancy, but the scenery is beautiful. The rooms have large windows looking out on the lake and a mountain. This trip we were surprised that there was entertainment for a couple of hours, cheese, fruit, and crackers, and a champagne toast for the new year. Staff is excellent.

We like "modern facilities" in the room.

We like t.v., hair dryers, alarm clock, coffee maker,electrical outlits in bathroom etc. If you want "living with nature", it is GREAT!! The resturant was very nice.

A Wilderness Gem on a Lake

Peaks of Otter Lodge is absolutely stunning! Who cares about telephones and TV when you have a spectacular lake view right off the Blue Ridge Parkway? The only other comparable gem is Bluff's Lodge, further down the Parkway. We stayed and both and will return to both SOON. Refreshing, peaceful, fabulous walks.... and adequate restaurants on site.
