When I arrived, the hotel did not have my Expedia reservation. Because of the eclipse, their rate was $275. Other rooms available were an hour away & even more expensive. I paid $275 PLUS the $75 I’d paid Expedia. I spent 40 minutes that night on hold with Expedia & never reached anyone. The hotel insisted they had no reservation from Expedia.

It’s a Super8- not much to discuss. We checked in late at night and the staff was lovely; the fridge in our room made a horrible buzzing noise but we just unplugged it; clean, and had a solid breakfast. We were just looking for a cheap bed on our way through town on a road trip. I will say- we got in around 10:30pm and there were no convenient nearby food options open. But it was also 10:30 on a Monday night, so understandable.

Great place to stay. From the very first encounter, the staff was very professional and courteous. I felt the lobby had a very efficient and accommodating layout, everything makes sense. Very thoughtful touches in the room. Amazing breakfast with a WAFFLE IRON yall. For the price you absolutely cannot beat it. It should be higher honestly. Just my opinion! 5 stars!!!!

The previous reviews seemed accurate. The staff was fine and courteous. But the facility was not great. It reakes of cigarette smoke. I was in the room for less than 12 hours and I was worried my clothes were going to smell of smoke. There was burns in the carpet. The room served its purpose as I only needed a place to sleep. You get what you pay for.

ok....
It was an ok stay for 1 night. They didn't have an elevator, but since it's only two floors it wasn't so bad. The bed was lumpy.

For those who just want to go to the room to sleep, it's worth it for the price. The staff has good service. The breakfast is good. What is bad is the cleanliness of the room (carpet was dirty, bathroom with dirty floor and faucet), the bathroom sink was clogged, a light bulb was burned out and the bathtub didn't have a drain cover if I wanted to use the bathtub.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is showing it's age. My room had a distinct odor but clean enough. Staff needs to check drawer in bedside. It was dirty inside with probably coffee spill since coffee maker sits there. I cleaned it myself. Cable TV had spotty connection and some channels had no sound. Wish there had been fruit or hard boiled eggs offered at breakfast, not the place to eat breakfast if your on a Keto diet.

The room and cold breakfast was nice. There was a smoking smell in the hall due to residents smoking outside at both ends of the hall and then walking to their rooms. The staff was very nice.

It's an ok place to stay. Lots of door slamming late and early from other guests. ALOT of contractors stay here during the week. Again it's an ok place to stay, cleanish, friendlyish, convenientish.

This property is conveniently located near the D-Day Memorial, the town and not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is very basic in amenities, but for the price it provides very good value. My only complaint is that my room had a bit of an odor. My guess is it might have been a smoking room at one time. I adjusted to it but it wasn’t ideal. Otherwise it served my purpose for a 2-night stay.

This hotel is just across the road from the Wohlfahrt Dinner Theater, so was very convenient for us. The king room was large and spacious. I had called to get a first floor room (no elevator) a few days before our arrival and they told me they couldn't take requests until the day of arrival. We were traveling and forgot to call so ended up on the 2nd floor, unfortunately. Easy access from I-81. Breakfast was sparse but ok - just the basics but well stocked. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Non-smoking area reeked of cigarette smoke
I was disappointed by this motel. The carpets were old and stained. The walls had stains on them as well. The breakfast buffet was pretty limited. However, the worst part was that the motel reeked of cigarette smoke everywhere, even in the non-smoking room section. Cigarette smoke came in through both my room door and the vents. When I stepped outside to check, there was a cloud of smoke that was coming from non-smoking rooms. I went to the front desk and asked if they could do something about people smoking in the non-smoking rooms. The clerk said there was nothing he could do, and instead sprayed some sort of air freshener. He gave the impression that this was a common thing for people to smoke in the non-smoking rooms. This gave me the impression that the staff does not enforce the non-smoking policy. I would not go back. I

Great town!
Stayed here while on a motorcycle trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very nice hotel. Rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Location was close to town and was a short drive to a few restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

Upkeep is going to need to start now
I have stayed here multiple times since it first opened. You can tell they are not doing the upkeep well, as is typical with this brand. The bathroom fan did not work which has caused some paint chipping and rusting. Also they do need to train their housekeeping to clean the walls. There was splatter around the desk area. In the mornings when they were cleaning other rooms I could tell they are not shampooing the carpets because some rooms I observed with the doors open had stained carpets. These are all simple fixes they are not doing and it is disappointing. It will not be long until the hotel falls into disarray.
