Passable

Pros: Location, restaurants and breakfast
Cons: Street people asking for money, we got no warning from staff about this & you can feel unsafe. The beds, lack of English & therefore help available
Location: Location near public transport tram out the front to everywhere, regional rai Way 200 metres, great restaurants.
The rooms were large, the beds, and fittings tired yet functional and in need a real up date. The stafs bi lingual ability very limited and their knowledge of their city limited, better to go to the tourist bureau. Breakfast was great with lots of fresh fruit and other options but get there early as they do not re stock it and so the best things do disappear. The street people are aggressive in their approach to you and they are everywhere, using children, disability whatever to gain your money! Try not to engage! We got no warning from staff about this disappointing! The best thing. About this hotel is its location to the regional railway, the restuarants and the city but you need to like walking to tram and train travel! The restaurants around the location were many and George's fantastic but get there early or book

Great location And ok everything else!

Pros: Proximity to local restaurants and the location.
Cons: The strett people felt a little unsafe
Location: Close to restuarants, rivers, regional rail link and tram service to business district
The hotel is just near the regional train station and has tram service for transiting to the business district.. It has a good array of bistros and cafes near by including the famous Goerges bistro and you can walk most places NB the red wine by the glass was pretty ordinary which was surprising. The staff were happy and willing to help but their English was minimal so conversation hard. Breakfast was more than adequate get a sixth floor room if you can as they have balconys. Sundays theres a farmers market. On the down side their was a lot on street people in the park opposite begging children and adults which was difficult at times. The rooms didn't have a fridge (we could take as much advantage of the farmers market or local foos as would have liked), nor were there tissues in the room, lighting was poor and there was no hair dryer or conditioner. Being picky would have loved a table to go with the chairs to take advantage of the balcony!

a okay hotel for sightseeing

Very convenient for accessing trains, it is right next to the subway/tram station, but not in a very good location. The room itself is bit small, but clean and okay. I guess for that price, you cannot ask for too much.

decent place for budget travelers
Posted Jan 7, 2013
overall a decent place when traveling on a budget. old hotel, clean enough, staff speaks english and were friendly and helpful. breakfast was good, around 9 euros. standard fare of croissants, fruit, breads, cheese...right down the street from farmer's market and a short walk to historic old towne. was able to find parking nearby even late on saturday night.

Good location near main bus, train & tram station. Easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful - most could speak English. Rooms were clean and good value for money

Close to the tunnel sous Fourviere. Well placed for visiting the old part of the city. Not fancy or anything but good deal for the price and location.

Good value

For the price it was an excellent value. It was pretty rough around the edges (chipped paint, stained tile, tiny elevator etc.) but everything important worked fine. Comfortable bed, AC, in room Wifi, and roomy bathrooms!

Good location: just next to Gare Perrache which is a metro/tram/train station The room is clean, quiet and has everything you need, only a little bit small, but it is not a big problem!
