Great for a stop overPosted Jul 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stopped here on our way back from south France back to Calais and it was a great base to explore Lyon, go out for a meal and stay over night refreshed ready for the next stage of the drive. Helpful reception staff with good English, nice quite rooms and secure parking. Good value for money.

Expected more for the moneyPosted Jul 18, 2013
Pros: OK hotel when in need and nothing else available. Included breakfast was decent.
Cons: Knowledge of smoking/nonsmoking rooms @ the front lobby.
Location: Nice little park behind the hotel.
It took 3 tries to get us a room that was ready or nonsmoking. Overall not a bad hotel, but I have stayed at cheaper and better hotels in the area.

This hotel was quite serviceable for me. I thought that it was a very good value for what I paid -- the rooms were very nice. It is also conveniently close to the university.

Truly superb staffPosted Jul 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
All of the staff I interacted with went above and beyond. Dominique in the dining room and the brunette German lady at the front desk both went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. That being said, they have European half showers where the tub is only partially enclosed and you have to hold the shower wand in your hand, so if I went back to Lyon I would stay someplace with a real shower instead.

Friendly staff, good value hotelPosted Oct 31, 2012
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Location is slightly out of centre of Lyon, rooms are a little characterless
Location: See above
Standard 3 star hotel, but experience made better by friendly staff. Would recommend if you are looking for a decent value budget hotel.

The hotel staff were very friendly, not just one of them, but everyone we dealt with (around 4 hotel staff we met during out stay). i.e. provide phone for us to make phone calls before our room ready, even help us to dial the phone number, help us to interpret French. We know zero French. They also provide bandage to my husband when he accidently cut his finger. It is a little tricky to find the front door of the hotel when taking the bus or Tram to the hotel, need to ring the door bell on the side door to get in, otherwise it would be too far to walk around to the front, we never get in from the front. It is pretty clean and well kept hotel. The door lock is very old fashion, still using traditional key. Overall, it is a nice clean place to sleep. If have time, the park at next door is huge and beautiful, too bad we didn't have time to walk through the whole park.

Good valuePosted Sep 5, 2012
Cons: Occasionnally noisy in early mornings (6AM)
Location: Easily accessible by bus, safe location.
Good hotel, clean, well located. Attendant hurried up the availability of our room so that it was available even though we arrived well before check in time.
Very reasonablePosted Jul 13, 2012 on Hotels.com
Decent hotel at a price which was very good compared to others. When I first got off the tram I thought I was in an inner city area with all the high rise flats but actually over the two days I was the area was fine and is very close to the huge park de tete d'or, and for those that don't mind a 15 minute walk can get to shops and restaurants.
