quaint little hotel
The room and bathroom were quite small. On the plus side, it had air conditioning (not always a given in Europe) and and elevator. You had to drop off the room key at the reception every time you left the hotel, which was a minor inconvenience. The staff were really nice and helpful, and available 24/7. Hotel is conveniently located near a metro stop and a short walk to a great park. It's an easy walk to the convention center and the main train station.

It was a friendly clean hotel located near city center and subway station. Just it has better to have refrigerator and phone inside the rooms.

Good location, good sound insulation from the street but several disappointments. The room was freezing cold when we arrived. It eventually got warm but the bathroom never did because of poor insulation. There was no soap, no shampoo in the room. No WiFi code either. Had to walk down several times to the front desk where the lady seemed to consider normal that we had to beg for minimal service. No apology whatsoever. The WiFi broke down several times. Oh and yes the price is as big as the room is tiny. We definitely do not recommend.

The staff was friendly and helpful and there was no problems whatsoever pertaining to my stay. The elevator is hilariously small though so you might have to do several goes if you have a lot of luggage.

Just fine
Overall the hotel was clean and one of the staff members was friendly but it was hit or miss. My room was clean but super tiny, hot, and loud. The breakfast wasn’t anything special, you’re better off going out. If you want a clean place to sleep a night, this hotel is fine.

Gastronomy weekend in Lyon - convenient and clean
We just stayed one night here but the location we found really convenient (10 min walk to Paul Bocuse Les Halles and to our restaurant L'Est). We Parked at Brotteaux car park which is just by the restaurant L'Est.

Good and disappointing
Pleasing staff, but no hot water in the shower along with no toothpaste... For the price of a single room, I was expecting at least hot water and toothpaste? Disappointing point. But the rest was correct. The toilet bowl is very low and not really comfortable...

Bonjour, nous n'avons eu aucun problème d'eau chaude, nous disposons de 3 cumulus de 500 litres chacun proposant de l'eau à 60 °c il est donc probable que vous n'ayez pas tourné le robinet correctement je ne comprends pas votre remarque concernant le dentifrice, nous avons des kits dépannage en réception mais vous devez confondre notre standard 2 etoiles avec du 4 etoiles Sincerement

Convenient option with very helpful staff
I stayed in a very simple but convenient room. All staff was very helpful and pleasant, and there is a nice seating area upon arrival. The hotel is central with some options around in the area. Would definitely recommend for someone for whom the location is convenient and doesn't plan to stay in the room the whole day. Breakfast was quite good for the price with croissant, bread, lots of fruit etc. Thank you

Very good deal
Family run hotel, very lovely helpful people. I only stayed one night when there was a storm so perhaps it affected the wi-fi which was a nightmare. The signal was dropping every few minutes so I gave up with it. In the morning I received apologies and my breakfast was kindly refunded for the inconvenience, which was a kind gesture. Altogether a very pleasant stay in a very well priced clean hotel,only 20 minutes walk to the town centre. Great quiet location, good restaurants in the vicinity. I had a simple basic room which was perfect for one night. Would definitely stay again as long as the wi-fi issue is fixed.

This is a lovely hotel in a vibrant part of Lyon, close to pretty much everything. The hotel was nice, clean and welcoming. I will definitely go back!

Well located and close to restaurants and centro.
Perfect small hotel located near Centro and rail station. Great restaurants in easy walking distance. Room was interesting but very comfortable for a couple. Staff spoke English and were very helpful. I would revisit anytime.

I enjoyed my stay. There's wifi included, that one needs to sign up for, which provides a 4 hour duration which then needs to be renewed after that. The hotel staff are very friendly. Breakfast is provided, but not included in the room rate. I didn't have breakfast so no review of the food & drink quality. Lots of local boulangeries close by and restaurants. Walking distance (5 minutes) to Lyon Bleu School for those wishing to take french lessons! The hotel is probably best described as a family run boutique hotel. It has about four rooms on three floors. I was on the third floor which has a lift, but it was easy enough to get the stairs. Would stay here again.

Great location in great neighbour
Love the off the touristy area location yet central to everything - transport, food, even shops. Reception area looks fantastic, the the bedroom's poor and dull lighting and decor is vastly different and a major disappointment. Room facing the back may be quieter but lacks day light which is another minus.

This modest hotel, with simple, nicely design interior has a pleasant home away from home atmosphere. Very clean, right on budget, perfectly located for food, shopping and leisure. Full of hospitality, has a tasty, reasonably priced breakfast option, there also is an available parking upon request, a great bonus in the busy city. Strongly recommended!

Hi, styed for one night, service is very good, nice people who welcome you. Hotel is very well located inside Lyon, 100m from metro station; Clean room, not very big/large but enough. Internet was working well, no problem for me. Woudl recommend it for both families and business.

Hotel has the basics, room was small, but bathroom was spacious. The day staff was helpful, but always seemed burdened by questions or requests. Night staff was great, went above and beyond what was asked. All spoke English. There is a Tunisian restaurant across the street with free wifi and good, cheap food. Overall, a decent experience and the price was good. Additional taxes only came out to 4 euros. Lyon is a great city

Very easy to get all the places you wanted
Very good hotel. Staff was excellent. Room and shower were quite small with little movement. Room was a little warm. Breakfast was excellent. Very clean rooms. WiFi was great. Very good restaurants around. A small sandwich shop across the street was our favorite.

Really great location, 2 blocks from the metro and a 10 minute walk down to the Rhône (river). If you walk a little towards the river you can find bakeries, cafes, etc The hotel staff were very nice. The downside was that the room we stayed in was very small; there wasn't even enough room to keep our suitcases, really. The bathroom looked as though it had been newly renovated but the room itself was a little outdated.

Reasonable budget hotel about to be renovated
A perfectly nice, basic budget hotel, our stay at Hôtel Tête d'Or probably would have been a lot more enjoyable had it not coincided with a bit of a heatwave in Lyon, with temperatures pushing 40C. The rooms didn't have air-conditioning (we didn't think to check when booking) - they were able to lend us a plug-in fan at reception downstairs, but fans are not as beneficial in the heat as air-con, and also there was only one power socket in the room into which we could plug the fan, which was right by the head of the bed! As we needed the fan on to be able to sleep, this meant having it aimed right at us from a short distance away. Also because there was only one socket we coudn't charge phones / cameras while we were in the room as we always needed the fan plugged in! The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we had any requests, and the continental breakfast was nice if not a bargain. The location of the hotel is a little bit away from the main tourist areas in Lyon, it is close to a Metro stop and generally things are walkable but you could certainly be closer to the main sight-seeing areas. The hotel appeared to be undergoing renovations when we were staying - the front of the building had been updated already, but on the day we checked out, they were in the process of ripping out old wall coverings / carpets - so who knows what it will look like in the near future.

Great hotel for the price!
Priced right and very clean, quiet, and "sympa," this hotel was a great choice for a simple, no-frills stay in this part of Lyon. The neighborhood is nice, with amenties all around, including Metro and bus service. Parking, while not cheap, was just around the corner and very secure. We did not take advantage of the optional breakfast offered. Nice staff!

Abbiamo soggiornato due notti presso questa struttura durante la festa delle luci. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Stanza un pò piccola, ma con tutto quel che serve, per due notti andava benissimo. A 15 minuti a piedi dalla città vecchia, raggiungibile con un comoda passeggiata. Buona la colazione a €9,50 a testa al giorno con croissant, pane fresco, burro, marmellate, affettati e frutta, aggiungerei solo qualche torta. Comodissimo (ma non pubblicazzato) il parcheggio privato a 15 euro al giorno. È un ottimo servizio, proponetelo di più! (Noi abbiamo dovuto chiederlo esplicitamente) Personale gentile e disponibile, consigliato!

Hotel de petite capacité, avec charme. Très bon accueil : disponibilité et sourire du personnels. Les chambres sont petites mais très bien agencées. Excellent petit déjeuner continental ! Petit point de frustration : pas de possibilité d'ouvrir les fenêtres. Dommage.
