Absolutely wonderful staff
This hotel is in a great spot near lots of cafes and shops. It was being renovated which we were made aware of. Unfortunately my husband got ill and we did not see much of the sights. The staff were absolutely awesome helping me navigate the French medical system. They were helpful supportive and arranged everything to get a doctor for us. Thank you so much and hopefully we will be back to visit again.

With hopes that my experience was just a fluke, I have to say the only thing this hotel has going is that it is well located. Between the metro and walking, I was able to see most of Lyon during my short stay. However, the hotel itself was very disappointing. There’s no soundproofing, and my room temperature was steadily at 25 degrees Celsius (even after opening the windows, playing around with the thermostat, and taking in the kind receptionists advice). I barely slept the few nights I was there and was happy to check out when the time came.

Absolutely great service from Constance at the front desk. She managed to get us rooms earlier for which we were very grateful after a long flight. Dining area for breakfast is quite small and a bit cramped, but understandable considering age and location of the hotel.

We had an excellent stay at the Republik Hôtel in Vieux-Lyon. The staff went out of their way to welcome us and had lots of information about the surrounding area. The room was comfortable for 2 people (a bit small, but as to be expected in the city centre of any European city!), and the bathroom was a decent size. Everything was very modern. I'll be sure to book here again during my next stay in Lyon.

Nice hotel in the middle of town
Nice hotel . Ask to stay on a high floor as the noise from the street (people at the bars shouting) is loud until 1 or even 2am - stayed on the 2nd floor. If you are a tall person you will struggle to find a comfort position to sit on the toilet (legs will hit the wall)

Nice location, poor front desk. They made a mistake and charged us 3 times our stay!! Room too small, no view, noisy heater but good location and breakfast (despite there were no gluten-free options).

The best things about this hotel are its location and its price: the location is excellent for walking to major Lyon attractions and many restaurants, and the price is very reasonable. The hotel is older but is nicely kept. We stayed in a superior room which was typically sized, very clean. The rooms are clean and comfortable; the bathrooms are recently renovated. The staff was very nice. The available breakfast had a good selection. If you don't expect much from the decor, lobby, or views, this hotel should do very well for a stay in Lyon.

This is a modest hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. Had a computer for guests. They left leftover breakfast pastries for guests. My room, while small, was well laid out with a nice bathroom and had tea/coffee facilties. Hotel was in an excellent location just off Place Bellecour. Staff friendly and helpful.

Comfortable room and ideal location. Front desk spoke in English (plus). We didn’t have breakfast, but it did look good. Unfortunately there was a noticeable odor in our room - sewer/mildew. After you turned the air conditioner on the smell was a bit less. I would try another place before staying there again, however it wasn’t horrible.

Highly recommended!
We stayed just one night, but met three shifts of workers. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they stored our bags while we went out and toured, then did the same thing the next day when we checked out. Very quiet and clean, comfortable bed and pillows. The location was convenient to shopping and the opera (we don’t mind walking). Price was very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location! A few steps from Bellecour, and walking distance from Vieux Lyon and everything else to see in the city. The staff was very welcoming and polite. The rooms are a little small, but it was very clean and comfortable.

Perfect tourist hotel
Got 3 single rooms for 3 friends. Shower hot with great pressure. Clean. Perfect location to drop stuff off and be out sightseeing all day. Photos are accurate.

Nice hotel, convenient to all Lyon has to offer
Last minute decision to get a hotel in Lyon towards the end of a trip. Very convenient to both the Rhône and Soane rivers and within walking distance to shopping, museums, restaurants, cafes and just walking around Lyon.

One hastily arranged 1-night stay but all good
Had to arrange an extra night stay on Lyon due to BA flight cancellation. Moved a short distance to Republik. Very helpful reception, took over bags early and made sure safe and we made most of extra day. Room lacked a decent level of natural light but was clean and comfortable and good shower room. The reception area was cheerful but did not have time to avail of facilities. I'd stay there again as in a central location and very reasonably priced.

Great hotel location, near all the shops & restaurants. The front desk was very helpful in booking us a cab upon request. The Hotel design is very modern filled with bright colours. Room was clean, spacious and cosy. The toilet was very large as well. It's very near a Metro station, near a lot of shops and restaurants as well.
