“Highlight of our trip to Jordan!”

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jordan! This hotel was the highlight of our stay and we both wished we were able to stay a couple more nights to relax and enjoy it. The drive to the hotel through all the mountains with views down to the Dead Sea was fantasic. The hotel pool and restaurant overlook a lovely waterfall which is such a nice setting. The waiters were all very friendly and food was served quickly and was of a good standard. The room was very small but we didn't really spend any time in it and everything else made up for that. The hotel operates a free shuttle bus to a panoramic viewpoint to watch sunset over the Dead Sea - you can order a meal +/or drinks at the restaurant or just enjoy the views. The hotel also operates the shuttle bus down to the Dead Sea - where they drop you has got an amazing infinity pool overlooking the Dead Sea and there's also mud available to coat yourself in before you float around in the Dead Sea itself. If we'd had the time we would have stayed there all day and got a taxi back as opposed to getting the shuttle bus back 3 hours later. All in all we loved our stay at the hotel and would highly recommend to anyone for the views alone.

Close to the dead sea, beautiful views of several waterfalls, excellent service, and fantastic food at the Panorama restaurant, perfect place to relax.

“I can't say enough great things about this place...”

The Ma'in resort was truly a highlight of our visit to Jordan - one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. We ended up there towards the end of our trip, after staying in mostly Kempinskis and Movenpicks elsewhere in the country, and the Ma'in was a wonderfully non-pretentious counterpoint. It was serene and relaxing and beautiful, with wonderful food (only the main restaurant was open when we were there, and there was a visiting Indian chef whose food was the best Indian I've had), fantastic drinks (at the Brown Bar) and all the details done right. Breakfast overlooking a waterfall, breaks in the lovely library, retreats to the hot springs - and we ended up staying 2 days longer than expected! Had we known then what we know now, we would've stayed at the Ma'in and simply taken afternoon trips to the Dead Sea, which is only about 20 minutes away (I think). We found out when there that they're currently planning a partnership with a facility at the Dead Sea which would make such trips easier. Our one suggestion would be to allow access to the hot springs without having to book a spa treatment - as the central draw for the hotel, it would be nice to be able to actually go to the hotel's namesake without getting a massage. Oh, and it would be great if traditional hammams returned to the spa menu!

“Highly Recommended”

Our arrival went pretty much without any problems and we arrived at the hotel late evening. The hotel staff were very friendly at reception - albeit sometimes at breakfast the service could have been a little better with table being cleaned before being sat at it. Rooms were very comfortable and the hotel had a relaxed atmosphere. The facilities were fine, although we didn't go to the spa at all. Lounged by the pool on one day and had a meal in the pool bar, which was nice. Pool is limited in size and the number of sun loungers are therefore restricted. Not being blessed with being able to sit in the sun for long this didn't bother us. We chose this hotel because of it's location and availability as we booked relatively late before going and was great for being a base. Travelled off for most of our holiday visiting sites in Madaba, Kerak, Petra and Dead Sea including Bethany.

“Not a winter experience”

As a holiday experience In February this hotel is not as advertised on the Six Sense web site - most of the facillities are closed until April including the pool (not heated despite being beside a Hot spring!) The actual Hotel hot spring spa was closed for refurbishement so we had to use the crowded public hot spring. Petra is a long 3 hour journey away and you are best staying in Petra itself if you want to explore the ruins at your leisure over two days rather than be given 3 hours to do so before they started charging wating time for the driver ! I can imagine the hotel is a totally differnt experience once it opens fully in April otherwise save your money and time and take a spa break in your own country!

“This Hotel is Struggling”

Good people but very poor management. Everyone is trying hard but there is no leadership in the hotel. It seems that quality leadership for the hotel has not been a priority so there is no synergy for the staffs efforts. The hotel is built in an exceptional location but it has not been maintained well so it looks worn and shabby. You will spend 30-45 minutes traveling to any of the nearest points of interest do to the hotels secluded location. For vacationers this is time lost. The good service was very good. The primary focus of the food servie was the buffet - the attention to room service was lacking. The spa is very understaffed. They have a great facility but they lack the staff to cater to the number of guests they have. Spa appointments must be made 2 or 3 days in advance to get a slot. The outdoor sitting area around the pools can accomodate only 4 couples. If you don't pick up one of the few chairs you are simply out of luck to enjoy this facility. Tons of mosquitos. You cannot sit out at night and the rooms are infested. If you come here, bring your own spray and be prepared to be eated alive. It appears that this hotel has passed its height and now everything is on the cheap. This is really unfortunate as the site is exceptional. If you have an interst in the location or spa I recommend you visit once but don't stay here - you'll be disappointed. I do not recommend this hotel.

“Overall disappointing.....”

The location of the hotel was fantastic and our expectations were high - to match the high-cost of staying at this hotel. It has obviously seen better days - in places it was rather shabby - for example the carpet in the hall way was badly stained, the cushions in our room were a little frayed and the bathroom towels were very poor - grey and frayed - not what one would expect from a luxury hotel. Our room was not clean on arrivala and we had to call house keeping - the firidge was left full of the previosu occupants half-eaten leftovers! and there was dust and fluff under the bed. Overall I do not think it represented good value for money. I was particularly annoyed to learn you had to pay an entry fee to use the pool in the spa - displayed in all the publicty material and the main reason we chose to saty in thii hotel! Thisi I thought was very bad indeed..
