simple and to the point except for the soggy bed

Posted Apr 18, 2012
Pros: Proximity to an event and reasonable price
Cons: the bed was too soft for my liking making for an uncomfortable sleep. There was no restaurant but one nearby in nh Hotel.
Location: it is in the middle of the MECC campus so could feel isolated and lacking in charcater. It is close to the town on foot public transport and car.
Room pleasant and clean but the bed/matress was too soft and soggy for my liking. The Hotel staff were very approachable had great English and the breakfast offerred a great selection. The hotel is located across the Maas from Maastricht so takes a bit of efforst to get to town. 30 mins walk but there are several busses. The Hotel is in the middle of MECC so would be a good location if attending a conference there but may otherwise feel a bit isolated especially since there is minimal communal space bar or restaurant. It is close to a nh hotel that has a restaurant.

Jsut what you'd expect, a little out of the way.

The hotel is located in the heart of the university, which is great if that's what you want to see in Maastricht. Else it's a 20 minute walk to downtown via a bike path that goes almost straight there. On the upside, parking is free (though perhaps not plentiful. Via car, there's only one road in and out of the area and it's somewhat adjacent to the highway. The hotel itself is a little quirky, but exactly what you'd expect or a three star. We asked for one bed and got two twin beds pushed together (which isn't unusual in the area). The breakfast service they offer is expensive and skimpy - save your money and head to a bakery downtown. There are very few other stores or places of interest near the hotel. But, the price is right if you have a car.
