Just loved the town with its beautiful rolling hills, wonderful homes, warm people & great food. Would go back in a blink of an eye. The room was cosy, with a nice large bedroom. We decided to have dinner there with a local glass of wine. Just so delicious. Breakfast had everything anyone could want & then some.

We were visiting Maastricht University and found this hotel through Expedia. What a revelation - excellent value, a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings just 5 kms from the centre of Maastricht. The hotel is a castle/chateau in its own grounds outside the city with free parking. The rooms themselves are in a modern wing/annexe to the back of the castle and have clean lines, modern feel with good facilities; not overlarge, but not cramped either. The staff are very efficient, friendly and helpful - not speaking any Dutch was not an issue - they all spoke excellent English. There is a restaurant and a bar at the hotel with very pleasant outdoor terraces and courtyards for sitting out to enjoy a drink or coffee. We did not use the restaurant, which looked quite nice, but the menu looked to be "special occasions". We did have the breakfast which had a very good selection of hot and cold food. There is free wifi in the rooms. If we go back to Maastricht, we would definitely choose this hotel.
Travel into the city by car is a very easy drive from the hotel - only c. 3-4 miles to the city centre (15 minutes). Parking in the city is less of deal than some comments on websites. It is not a big city - go onto the maastrichtbereikbaar website for details of the parking places. We used the Stadspark "Park and Walk" car park for an evening (free after 6 pm) only a 5 minute walk through the park to the old town. Taxis can be booked if you want to drink with your meal.

Booked this at the last minute. Didn't know what to expect.
Got a very pleasant suprise when we arrived.
It is superb. Our room could only be described as luxurious.
The welcome was even more so, even though it was a busy time.
The best advice I can give is: Have the breakfast. You will not regret it (unless you are on a diet).
The restaurant is closed on Mondays, so we can't comment on that.
Excellent food is available in Ginkel though. Try "De Imperator".

We arrived in Maastricht to see Andre Rieu on Sunday. Arriving at the hotel, you sense that this will be no ordinary hotel experience. You can't help but want explore the cathedral space that is the lobby as the friendly staff leads you to the front desk, it's awe inspiring. Even better than the photos. Staff were never short of being polite and friendly, and will see that you have the utmost enjoyable stay there. This hotel also offers an amazing home style burger with an assortment of desserts for room service, which is perfect when the sky is pouring down onto the cobbled streets below and you have everything you need under the one roof of where you are staying. Fantastic hotel and will advise that if you ever plan to visit Maastricht the once, this is the Hotel to stay at.
