“Good Quality Hotel, Excellent value for money”

Hotel is a little difficult for public transport. MECC (Exhibition & Conf centre) is 15 min walk away but a long drive away. City bus stop about 500m. Difficult to walk into city centre because of need to cross railway and motorway. My room faced motorway about 200m away but this was no problem to me even with windows open. Quite residential area so need to go into city centre for attractions.

“Nice Hotel, Big Rooms”

The hotel was not near the town center, but I had a car. Public transportation is also available and if you like walking you could walk the distance in around 20min. The rooms are spacious, the staff accomodating and the workout room was really nice! There is aslo a grocery store less than 5min. away by car. And for the drivers, fwy access is great!

“Excellent Van Der Valk”

Stayed in Van Der Valk during the Easter Break 2008. Very nice hotel, very clean and couteous and helpful staff. Used the Bar a couple of times which we found quite pleasant and average prices. Did not use the Breakfast Buffett, as we thought 15 Euros each per day was a bit pricey. The only drawback regarding the hotel is its location, which is on the outskirts of Maastricht. We used a Taxi to get into the centre at night, which cost 7.50 Euros each way, which is not to bad considering. Overall, a very nice, clean and warm hotel.

“Great Hotel”

Stayed for 3 nights at the Van Der Valk. Comfortable clean rooms, although as per other reviews there was a little traffic noise from the motorway, but nothing too bad. Food was excellent, especially breakfast. Staff were polite and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

“Great Hotel Chain”

A great hotel with probably the best shower of any hotel chain i've ever used. It sounds daft but to have a proper shower cubicle with plenty of room and power in the shower is a real difference between this chain and others. The regular bus service from the hotel to the town centre is another bonus, although teh walk into town is not long.

“Very good standard”

Getting the fact, it's a little out the way from the centre of Maastricht, about 8 euros by taxi, the hotel was very nice. Arrived late as part of a business trip, we got a very good rate on expedia, and was impressed with what was on offer. Check in was prompt and polite, the room was huge, and there was a gym on the foor, so easily accessable. Breakfast was nice and varied. I would compare it to a nice Hilton, but without the points.

“After several visits to the Van der Valk”

We've stayed here summer and winter. Latest trip was immediately pre-Christmas '07. Again the hotel was beautifully decorated for the seasonal holiday. Rooms are comfortable and spacious - tea/coffee hidden in the wardrobe, but you can never be sure it will be on offer. Pleasant bathroom. Bar does good meals, restaurant a bit pricey. Buffet breakfast OK if you have no special dietary needs. Don't bother asking for an omelette or anything other than what is regulation! The Dutch are helpful and friendly, but intractable. Small but modern gym on 3rd floor. Hotel's rates are very variable - even their own web-site. Happy to stay here again. Very convenient location, easy to find and bus routes nearby to the Centre. Good value for Maastricht which can be an expensive place to stay.

“Good hotel with a good location”

This hotel is a good place to stay and has a convenient location for a tourist. It's 15 minutes drive from the airport, and the No.4 bus takes you to the Central train station is 15 min and the Maastricht town square or Vrijthof in 25 min. I had only one problem with two items that were removed from my room (beer & medicine) by room service, but the hotel compensated me for that. I would stay at this hotel again

“Very Nice”

Clean and comfortable with friendly staff and a good breakfast, reasonable prices. Could have been closer to the city center, but otherwise very nice.
