The wifi simply doesn't work in the rooms. I was offered to buy a 3 day package at a surcharge and I was able to log in inly once for half an hour. At the check out I still had to pay for it even tho I got a discount. Hotel restaurant and food are fine. It's not a new hotel but well maintained.

Grand Lapa

Posted May 2, 2014
Pros: The size of the room.
Cons: Offering complimentary internet.
Location: The ferry port is a short drive from the hotel and a shuttle is provided. There are a lot of good restaurants in the hotel as well as around the hotel
The hotel was fantastic. It truly was a 5 star property!! The staff was genuine and caring. The location was ideal from the ferry port to the middle of the gambling scene. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The staff were beyond helpful and full of knowledge. Everything they recommended was excellent!!! We will definitely return to the Grand Lapa Hotel in Macau!!!!

Fantastic breakfast and lunchbuffet

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: breakfast and lunch, pool is also nice
Nice hotel, good service and facilities. Although it has a casino if feels like a 'normal' hotel. The restaurant/cafe has a great colonial feel and the food is great.

Wonderful staff and hotel

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: The staff were over the top amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone - concierge, restaurant and bar staff, spa staff, room maids
Cons: Nothing that comes to mind!
Location: Easy walk to old town, casinos, only 20 minutes by taxi to Cotai,
Great location, fantastic staff, loved the spa and pool area, great restaurants & bars. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend

Great service except the lobby smell!

Posted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Room, gym, swimming pool, staff, service
Cons: Lobby smell
Location: 10 minutes walking distance to the hottest areas
It is a nice hotel. Staff were friendly. Room was clean. I especially like the gym and swimming area. Very nice facility and the staff were great. There was only one thing which gave a negative surprise. For some reason the lobby area has some kind of strange smell. I couldn't understand why the nice facility has this issue. Don't know if it is temporary or not. The hotel location is good although not perfect. You can walk to the hottest area (near Lisboa) in less than 10 minutes. It is not far but other hotels are closer. The casino in the hotel is not as big as other ones like MGM, Wynn, Lisboa. If you want to go for casino, pick a closer one. I am not a big gambler, nor do I mind walking. This hotel worked for me well.

Mixed experience

Posted Jan 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
On the one hand the hotel is in a good location, the staff were excellent and the common areas of the hotel are very nice.On the other hand, the paid internet access was very poor (should not be the case in a 4/5 star hotel especially when the wifi/internet is an extra charge) and also our room looked like it had not been refurbished into 20 years (comfortable though it was)

Fantastic bed and a very quiet room

Posted Dec 20, 2013
A little older Mandarin hotel at a very good price, stayed at several others in Macau and this was best for the money .Nicest bed I had and biggest safebox as well. Only setback is that you have to pay extra for the Internet and Movies ( no moviechannel) Internet was not very fast but stabil.
