"Casa Del Sol Machu Picchu November 2013"
Great Hotel, Great food, Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu are beyond words. Just be careful of the hotel entrance, one too many Pisco Sour's and you may stumble directly into an oncoming train, you must cross the tracks every time you enter or exit the hotel... "Pampering after Inca Trail Hike"
After the hike, we checked in to this beautiful hotel. We were delighted to find out that high tea, our 3 course dinner, a sumptious buffet breakfast, a freshly squeezed welcome juice and decorative and delicious snacks and welcome pastries delivered to the room were all included in our price! Also complimentary was a class on making pisco sours and ceviche, which we got to eat and drink with Freddy and Laura-they were so charming and sweet and the food and beverage wonderful! My friend had a massage which she said was one of the best she had ever had and we enjoyed our balcony and listening to the river. It was a very luxurious experience and we would recommend this hotel and its staff and food (especially ceviche and alpaca) highly, especially if you want to recouperate after the hike.

"20 Feet from the Gate to Machu Picchu"
The hotel is expensive but the location and the customer focused Lodge Staff makes this a must stay if you go to Machu Picchu , the location and service deserves the price. We loved everything. Staff was exceptional, very accommodating and helpful. With The proximity to Machu Picchu 20 Feet from the Gate, You can go the park in the morning, come to have lunch at the hotel and visit the park again at sunset, without any hurry. It's a harrowing bus ride up the Cliffside to reach the Park. It's worth it to stay up top, and not have to go back down to the village below The location can't be beat; no one else has a hotel anywhere near Machu Picchu. Staff is exceptional; very accommodating and helpful. The food was very ,very good. The Lodge provide free entry tickets to the Park and will also assist you with any needs or questions you might have

"Good spot for staying the night"
People complain that this hotel isnt a 4 star hotel and is over rated. Until you see Aguas Calientes you will realize this is definitely 4 star for the area and I found the hotel to be very organized and extremely comfortable for my night stay. Shower water was actually hot which was a change from mg experience in Cusco. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic for a 5am grab and go before hitting the bus line for M.P. The hotel even held our bags and had them delivered to the train station down the hill before our hike. All in all I recommend this place and it was the only excellent review I have given from my 4 different hotel experience in Peru.

"Awful. Ugly and expensive"
The price is really hight for the quality of the room and service. The room was noisy, dirty, smelly and ugly. The reception was next to our room and people who work there where really noisy even at night time specially when you have to sleep because you are waking up early in the morning to go to machupicchu. The main reason the small town was created for. They include breakfast, but this was only an old bread and a cup of tea.

"Very Nice Staff"
We went to Machu Picchu for my wife's birthday. We mentioned this to the check in person the night before my wife's birthday. The next morning the staff played Happy Birthday on the sound system in the Hotel. At the Breakfast Buffet the staff gave my wife a Birthday Cake, and we had a little chance to dance.

Pocket Guide: Cusco Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes Independent Hotels

Dramatic cliffs, swathed in emerald green, rise into misty skies to envelop the tourist town of Aguas Calientes, the first and last stop for most Machu Picchu visitors. Buses depart from Aguas Calientes along a winding, mountainous road towards the iconic Peruvian landmark, thought to be royal Incan estate built in the 1400s. The town's other attraction is its namesake: a set of hot springs.
