over night to shop.Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Most every thing.
Cons: It would be nice to have a real happy hour (not all you can drink a short period - this reckless) and no hors de vers (sp). That's tacky.
Location: Great location for shopping. Great restaurants in close driving distance. The shopping and dining are A+++++++
shopped and came back to hotel disappointed in restaurant We wanted breakfast but manager said it was from 6-9 and for travelers 9:00 is early to end breakfast. I felt cheated, because I get up at 9:00 and would love to have had a little to eat, especially since I am diabetic. Loved hearing the train. I bet lots of people complain, but I love the old fashioned sound of the wheels on the track. (he even blew the horn around 9:30)

Noisy but nicePosted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: very clean and nice, it is obviously new construction and decorated tastefully
Cons: The sound was awful!!!!
Location: great selection of restaurants
We stopped for an overnight stay on our return trip from Florida to Indiana. The hotel was impeccably clean and very nice, the staff was professional and very pleasant to deal with. However, this hotel was located next to train tracks that woke me several times throughout the night, but that was nothing compared to the noise in the halls and adjoining rooms. It was not a matter of guests being too noisy, but the walls were so paper thin I could almost hear their conversations through the wall and every time people were walking and talking in the hallway we could hear voices. I took a Tylenol PM and was still awake most of the night. The only way I could run the fan on the window unit to drown out the noise was to keep the thermostat set on 64 degrees which still kicked off and on throughout the night. This option left us either freezing or awake every time it turned off. It was one of the most restless nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel, part of me can't help but wonder if the increased noise level was due to the fact the rooms no longer have carpet in them. From a cleanliness standpoint I liked the idea of no carpet, but something is needed to absorb sound. I thought I had found a great stopping place when trying to split up our 1200 mile trip every year, but I'm quite certain I will never return...my sleep is too important.

Staff stealsPosted Mar 29, 2014
My tommy bahama swim suit was taken from our room while a hair dryer was being replaced and we went downtown. I called the desk to report it and I was told "sorry, we will let you know if it turns up". The hotel is nice if you don't plan on living any of your belongings in your room while you leave.

NicePosted Jan 30, 2014
Pros: Rooms were well appointed.
Cons: If your advertisement says bar is open, stay open.
Location: Close to shopping and restaurants.
The hotel was clan and in a safe location. We were disappointed that the bar closed early (7:30) and nobody was willing or able to get us a glass of wine after a long drive. There was a stained mattress propped up in the hallway when we arrived and when we left. That was a little disturbing.

Nice, but 100 away from a busy train trackPosted Dec 9, 2013
Good hotel. Clean, but with it being 100 feet away from a train tack I got very little sleep. It might be better on the other side of the hotel. Also the "free continental breakfast" was $3.99 plus tax. If I stay here again I'll make sure to ask for a room where I can't see the train track. Or just pick another hotel within the 500 square feet area.

Nice hotel, but not kid friendly and no breakfast.Posted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: Nicely furnished.
Cons: Having food available for breakfast.
We usually stay at a lower cost hotel since we come to town quite often for Mercer football games, but I wanted to go a little better since it was our last game of the year. I liked they had a restaurant, but I knew it was going to cost extra. We arrived to find out we had to walk to the end of the hall to go to our room. We found out they were doing us a favor since the hotel was right next to train tracks - everyone else on the other side was complaining about the 7-8 trains that kept them up. When I say it wasn't kid friendly it is because they only had showers - no baths to clean up the kids at night. In the morning, we were ready for a nice restaurant breakfast, but we got anything else but. Only 1 person was running the restaurant since she was stuck by herself since others called in as no-shows. They ran out of all of the food and plates and bowls since there was no one manning the kitchen. We also did not even get coffee. I guess I learned that we could save $30/night and get a much better hotel nearby like the Wingate or Country Inn. I felt bad for the waitress, but the hotel manager needs to have back up plans so we don't suffer after spending $100 for a hotel.

Nice hotel but linens were dirtyPosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: Comfortable bed Good shampoo
Cons: The bed sheets could've been cleaned more thoroughly.
It was a nice, clean hotel and the temperature was just right when we walked in. The only thing that disappointed me was the bed sheets had a big pink stain on it. The bathroom was simply a shower style, and I prefer tubs. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay.

Great night sleepPosted Jul 6, 2013
Pros: The beds was very comfortable and the pillows were great. Hardwood floors were a plus.
Cons: Heat the pool
Location: Only stayed one night but there was a nice mall near by to grab a bite to eat at a decent chain restaurant.
Decent hotel we stopped for a night on our way to Florida from Chicago. Pool was freezing but beds were very comfy, best night sleep I have had in a hotel in a long time. The only issue is the 4AM train rolling by.
