Our stay during family reunion and vacation

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: The staff was very helpful and courteous in trying to resolve our problem and the continental breakfast was awesome...
Cons: Better accuracy on reservations, the overall apperance inside such as floors clean and debris picked up, microwave in room...
Location: Great location for shopping, eating, and family activities...
We stay once a year at this Super 8 and always felt comfortable and never had any issues until our recent stay in April of this year. We always book and pay a head of time to be sure we have a room as my wife has health issues. We booked a NON-SMOKING ROOM as my wife is on oxygen and not able to be around any kind of smoke, especially cigarettes and upon arriving our reservation had been changed to a smoking room, which was very smokey, congested and the desk clerk moved us to the 2nd floor to a suite which is hardly used, but still in a smokey area, but once a/c was on and room ventialated , it was okay. My wife had a great deal of difficulty climbing the stairs which is why we booked 1st floor, non-smoking, but the desk guy said he was limited on what he could authorize and wasnt able to refund us and we couldnt afford to just forfeit our paid room, it took alot to save money and be able to come see our family. We appreciate the young guys help to accomadate us and we made do. It was real smokey and the halls and stairwell were covered in mud, trash, dirty linens and look like a party hit the second floor and usually this motel is so neat and clean.. The staff was awesome as was the continental breakfast...It was just our reservations and the hardship on my wife when shes supposed to be enjoying herself and the overall condition of the hotel that was disappointing...We are considering very carefully where wewill stay when we visit next year....Thank you

This was not NON SMOKING.

Posted May 20, 2014
We had specifically asked for a non smoking room. There were ashtrays in the room and everything smelled. I washed all our clothes when we got back and aired out the luggage for a few days before I would take it into the rest of our home---the smell was in everything. The hotel was full and no other room was available. The stopper in the shower was not working correctly. We had to take a shower with the tub filling up and then later hold the stopper until the tub drained.

Just what we needed

We weren't liking for anything fancy, it was clean, comfortable and they had friendly staff. Continental breakfast was really nice, and beds were comfy

Stinky room.

Was disappointed our room smelled like sewer the whole trip. The toilet was broken. It got changed the last day then pour room really smelled bad. Ask for a manger to call and no one has called me yet. The only thing was the house keepers did keep our room up well.

Not a 5 star hotel but its clean and has everything that you would need, everything works and seams to be in good repair. Its pretty close to the Hospital and colleges in the area.

We did not stay. We went with a group and the hotel was overbooked. We gave up our room so others could have it. When I booked the room, it was for non-smoking. The room we got was smoking. The front desk said we weren't guaranteed a non smoking room even though that is what it stated on my printed e-mail that I brought. We did get a refund.

Didn't get my non-smoking room

Posted Oct 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was stuck in a smoking room. I had booked nonsmoking but apparently they were all taken so I couldn't even switch. They gave it some extra sprays for me and it wasn't too bad, but I probably wouldn't stay there again. Just knowing that every few rooms is a smoking room as you go along the hall (instead of one section) made the whole place feel dirty to me.

Comfortable but smallish rooms

Posted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: price, location, comfortable beds
Cons: can't change room size; could upgrade breakfast although the breakfast area is small as well so would probably be difficult; ran out of orange juice
Location: North of Columbia and the U of Missouri; not far from area vineyard
This hotel was conveniently located for an event we were attending. The rooms are on the small side but clean and beds were comfortable. We weren't there to spend time in the room so it was fine Continental breakfast was limited but we are not big breakfast eaters so was okay.
