We stayed for 9 nights. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice and the food was alright (what you would expect from a buffet). The room was more spacious than expected, we had a living space with a sofa separate from the bedroom. Cleanliness could have been better, the rooms were cleaned daily but the bed sheets weren't changed at all during our stay. (We also noticed stains on the bed sheets even though they were clean when we checked in). They have 2 pool, one only for adults which was nice. Water at the adult pool was very cold so we had to take a trip to the other one for a swim. The other pool is "heated" but expect the water to still be a bit cold. All in all I would recommend staying here. Would stay here again if I come back to Madeira.

Hotel staff were friendly, all areas were clean and had adequate amenities. Breakfast was very nice with good options. However hotel charges €2 per day for tea/coffee in the hotel room, which should be provided with the room

Great hotel in a fantastic area
Great hotel, fantastic rooms and facilities. My only quibble is that there seemed to only be one iron and board for the entire hotel, and there was no pool service at the pool. Apart from that, great place to stay.

The hotel was generally very clean and the staff welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was nice and the swimming pool areas were pleasant. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. The reception service was excellent! They could do with updating the games/gym/sauna amenities as these areas were dated.

New years Eve in Madeira
Went to see the fire works and was pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely and affordable hotel within easy reach of the center of Funchal and well within the tourist area and therefor accommodated nicely. The only fault that i had with this room was that there was not any kind of milk or substitute for my coffee which would have been nice first thing in the morning as i have 2 children and sometime was not able to get to breakfast on time.

The location of the hotel was perfect. It is close to the bus stop, shops and restaurants and is only about 10 minutes away from the city by bus. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The hotel was also recently refurbished so almost all the furnitures are new and clean. The only thing they can improve is on the selection of the breakfast. Maybe they could include more pastries.

Advertised as a 4 star hotel, falls very short of
Upon arrival the Hotel we were greeted by warm friendly staff. We were told that we had been upgraded to a superior room which was unexpected but nice. A tour of the hotel revealed several faults some of which were dangerous and a health hazard.Torn and ripped astro turf around the swimming pool. The children's play area was disgusting. Dirty unclean sunbeds. Stains on carpets,torn towels in room. Outdated paradise bar with torn dirty astro turf. No pictures on corridor. Food not up to standard at Breakfast. Not befitting 4 star rating, at best 2. we tried to relocate via expedia but the customer service didn't want to know unless we paid an additional fee. I will avoid booking with expedia again.

Amazing stay! Staff very friendly and knowledgeable,breakfast is nice and the pool area was great to chill after the long day travel. We recommend it!

lovely big room we were on the top floor so we had a good view, wish there had been a kettle in the room as its nice to make a cuppa at any time. pool area could be updated but it was clean. food good choice but we only stayed 2 nights and only ate 1 night in the hotel. staff friendly especially the receptionist.

Girassol Hotel
A smart hotel in the tourist hotel area close to restaurants and an easy bus ride into Funchal town centre. It has two swimming pools and a pretty tropical garden behind. Good buffet breakfast including hot and cold drinks, cereal, rolls, egg and bacon and fruit. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a bedroom and dividing door to the lounge area with sofa bed. Rooms have a fridge but no kettle for tea/coffee so take your own. The airport bus conveniently stops right by the hotel.

Velg rom litt høyt oppe pga støy.
Hadde en flott uke på hotellet. Fikk rom over parkering/ garasjen, mye smelling i bildører. Men oppgraderte til et rom høyere opp og ble veldig fornøyd. Stor balkong. Svært hyggelig renholdspersonale. Noe slitt på badet. Gode senger. Rikholdig frokostbuffet med mange alternativer, også glutenfritt.

Zentrale Lage im Lido-Viertel, inmitten vieler Restaurants und Ausgehmöglichkeiten. Bushaltestellen (auch Aerobus, Hop on-hopp off und Yellow Bus) fast vor der Tür. Kleine Supermärkte sind fußläufig erreichbar. Das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch die Aufbewahrung des Gepäcks für einige Stunden nach dem Auschecken war kein Problem. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbüffet mit viel Obst, landestypischen Köstlichkeiten, aber auch warmen Speisen. Kostenfreies WLAN ohne Verbindungsabbrüche im gesamten Haus vorhanden. Zum Außenbereich gehören zwei Pools und ein top gepflegter Garten, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Vorbildliche tägliche Zimmerreinigung und eine große Suite mit Bad, Schlaf- und separatem Wohnzimmer sowie Balkon mit Blick auf's Meer und die Umgebung. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und kehre gerne zurück!

Modern und Top Preis- Leistung
Es ist ein Top Hotel um die Insel zu erkunden. Das Mietfahrzeug kann man direkt vor dem Hotel gratis parkieren. Parkplätze sind sonst schwierig zu finden. Das Hotel ist modern eingerichtet, das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr reichhaltig. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, bequeme Betten und in der Nacht ist es sehr ruhig - man hört also keine Nachbarn. Das Wohnzimmer und der Balkon waren auch top. Es gibt zwei Swimmingpools mit schöner Gartenanlage. In der Nähe gibt es sehr viele Restaurants usw. und alles zu Fuss erreichbar. Meiner Meinung nach ist die Lage besser als im Zentrum von Funchal. Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr hilfreich bei Routenplanung usw. Weiter ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut.

Der Empfang war wunderbar, MA konnte deutsch und hate mich auch schon erwartet. Auch sonst hat mir die Rezeption beim Wecken und Check in für den Rückflug ohne Umstände geholfen. Die MA im Restaurant waren sehr fleißig, umgehend wurden fast leere Schüsseln, Kaffeecontainer ect. aufgefüllt, die Tische abgeräumt und gesäubert. Einziges Manko, wenn man unglücklich saß, war die Klima-Anlage etwas zu kühl eingestellt. Zimmer/Suiten schon ein wenig abgewohnt (Möbel), ansonsten aber alles ganz angenehm. Hotel liegt in einer schönen Gegend zum Spazierengehen/Baden - nur kurzer Weg zum Meer/Schwimmbäder. Shoppen konnte man von dort auch im Umkreis, 3 Stationen Richtung Forum Madeira oder 4 -5 Stationen nach Madeiras Altstadt (auch keine Probleme zu Fuß).

10 giorni a Madeira
L'hotel (nonostante sia stato ristruttuato) è moderno, funzionale e pulito. La colazione, a buffet, presenta una buona varietà di alimenti che, anche se non è eccezionale, e decisamente buona per scelta e qualità. Vi sono due piscine, una più adatta ai bambini. Entrambe sono abbastanza ampie e sufficienti per il numero di ospiti. La posizione dell'hotel è relativamente facile da raggiungere dal centro, che dista 2 o 3 km. Sfortunatamente il quartiere in cui è situato è fatto solo di strutture turistiche, che fanno molto Jesolo o Rimini.

Muy bonito.
La estancia ha sido muy agradable. Nos toco una habitación con unas vistas increíbles. La comida muy buena y las habitaciones muy limpias. El gym es mejor no ofertarlo porque realmente no es un gimnasio. Es una bicicleta y unas pesas, pero el resto es mejor de lo q imaginaba

L'albergo ha tutto quello che serve a un prezzo decisamente abbordabile. L'unico elemento negativo e' la mancanza di copertura wifi nelle camere. Per leggere la posta bisogna scendere nella hall (comunque la cosa era chiaramente indicata nella descrizione dell'albergo, quindi nessuna sorpresa)

Desengane-se quem acha que vai encontrar um hotel de 4*... Também não é exactamente um 3* - será um 3,5*... Não é um hotel recente, o que se reflecte principalmente nas áreas comuns (recepção, restaurante, piscina). No entanto, o quartos (suites) parecem ter sido remodelados recentemente e são confortáveis, modernos e bem equipados. Sendo suites, o tamanho do quarto de cama não é propriamente muito grande, mas dispõe de bastante arrumação. O staff é simpático, atento e muito disponível. A comida é regular, mas o preço também não é muito elevado... A localização é excelente: 2 minutos a pé da Promenade do Lido, mercado logo ao lado do hotel, paragem com 3 autocarros para o centro do Funchal a 1 minuto de distância e várias agências de excursões logo ali, bem como vários restaurantes.

In general im quite pleased with my stay. The only down side of the stay was that, there are no intrnett connction in the rooms only at the lobby. The service was quite good and friendly, simple english breakfest buffey every day.
